A busy site.

We have been to this site before as it is a good stop over site whilst on tour. This visit was planned, however, we have not been on site when there have been so many families with children left by their parents to wander the site, including walking and playing within inches of our windows and door. We are experienced campers, caravaners and now have a campervan. Our family made many caravan holidays and our children respected the boundaries of other people. Not much the wardens can do about this problem other than have a word with families about where their children might play and to respect neighbours boundaries. This is a good well located site with good facilities and we have met some very interesting people from across Europe on this site. Very friendly helpful wardens. Just beware that it can be very busy with families and children at weekends and school holiday times.

Michael the Warden made this site great!

We spent two weeks touring Scotland and Michael at Ayr Cragie was the stand out warden for us.  He was knowledgable, good fun and very helpful.  If there was an award for Warden of the Year, we would vote for him.  As a result of speaking to Michael we went to Glasgow on the train, a bargain for a family of four.  We also visited Cumbrae Island on his recommendation which was perfect and we hadn't a clue about it before we spoke to him.  Having visited many sites this summer we were all struck how unhelpful and grumpy the vast majority of the wardens were.  Maybe time for some young blood in sites?

Glasgow trip

Moved over to Ayr from Strathclyde Park to escape to racket from surrounding traffic and construction work and found the site almost perfect. While it is well laid out and perfectly located to visit the town centre and beach, with a nice walk along the river. The site is well maintained and kept as clean as possible by some really good wardens. I say that because the toilet block etc are a bit run down and not quite up to the normal standard of other club sites. Maybe when they are updated it'll be VERY popular.

Great site, excellent location.

My family and I stayed at this site for 4 nights after visiting family in Paisley. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the town (15 mins) and the sea front (20mins) along the banks of the river.  The site is level with good sized pitches and is protected from the harshest weather by being surrounded by mature trees and hedges. The amenities block has everything required including a good sized washing machine and tumble dryer. The staff are friendly and helpful giving useful local information on check-in. There is a small children's play park which my 7 year old enjoyed immensely.   We will be returning for a longer stay next year to see more of Bonnie Scotland and will use this site as our base.

Scotland's finest

Excellent site, very we'll kept, staff very friendly. The site is walking distance to the town yet set in country park surroundings. The beach is a 10 minute walk away and I'd lovely and clean, fab for children. Would highly recommend this site for anyone visiting Scotland.

Speed on All Club Sites

Ayr Craigie Gardens is a beautiful site and very well kept with beautiful gardens around the site and the staff at the site keep them well attended to. But although I really like this site I feel there is a need for the speed around the site to be addressed.  I have just returned from the week-end at this site and when watching the vehicles travelling about the site it was really frightening as some vehicles were not only slightly above the speed limit of 5 mph they were travelling at around 25-30 mph which is dreadfull on a site where kids could run out of toilets etc. and these vehicles would not be able to stop.  Please SLOW DOWN on site. Fantastic site otherwise with plenty to do around and staff does give you plenty of information of the interesting points about.

All good.

A quiet, green space to site the van. Everything as you would expect from C.C. The real advantage of this location is the surrounding countryside and coast, with the convenience of a town on the doorstep. I can recommend a sunset swim with spectacular views of Arran.

A flying visit

We arrived on a Saturday and left Sunday afternoon. A flying visit as we used the site as a base to visit my mother in a care home close by. My only criticism of the pitches are they are tight for a caravan car and awning. If you park rear  right of caravan on the peg. Also the ground is very hard. Overall thought a nice site and we will use it again.
