Good old Craigie

Stayed here Sept 15 on our months tour of Scotland usual well kept site toilets a little dated but clean, excellent for families as plenty to do and see, excellent for doggy people as so many walks from site & a stone's throw to the shops if that is what floats your boat.  Aldi & Morrison's very close by for shopping we didnt use the car, we went on foot. I do agree with (suecaravanlover )  alot of people do not stick to the 5MPH rule, and this is not just on this site !!!!   Yes a accident waiting to happen !!

Ayr Craigie Park

Unbelievably quiet site. Very clean and tidy. Enjoyed the squirrels. Especially good site for dog owners as walks are amazing and never ending. Facilities were not the most modern but perfectly acceptable and also very clean.

Inconsiderate members

This is a lovely site with friendly wardens who keep the place lovely. We have just had a lovely week there with wonderful weather unfortunately this was spoiled by a large number of fellow members who obviously think the 5mph rule does not apply to them!Sad You might think it was just cars but no it included motor homes and caravans coming on and going off. The club says its a good site for families and it is a playground and lovely surroundings but I wouldn't feel happy taking young children there unless something is done. I spoke to the warden who said even speed bumps don't work perhaps the offenders should just be told to vacate the site they would soon slow down!!!! I hope this can be addressed its such a great site.

Just perfect

Enjoyed a very peaceful four nights. Site was busy, it always is, but blissfully quiet. Sunshine helped of course. Beautifully kept with excellently maintained facilities and surrounds.  Sited a short walk from the town of Ayr and all it and the Ayrshire cost has to offer.  Forty minute tow from the south side of Glasgow. We'll be back!

Central

We stayed here for 3 nights, very good location, with easy reach of the town of Ayr and also the beach. It is a very quiet site, the drawback, is that with the very high overhanging trees, the birds sit right above the van, our van was covered in bird poo, which had to be cleaned of as soon as returning home, otherwise it could damage the van. The shower block was very clean but does need a total upgrade, several of the shower cubicles were falling into disrepair, the laminate covering had split and the inner chip board was exposed to water, the actual shower was like standing under a very slow water.   tap, no power at all and it took a lot to rinse yourself  off. lovely friendly wardens and always willing to give any help.

Good location

We stayed here for four nights at the end of September. It's a lovely site hidden away near the university. Nice site for families although it is worth noting that the child's bathroom forms part of the ladies toilets; therefore us dads are unable to play our part in bathing the little ones. The shower blocks were clean, warm and I liked the fact they had music; however, they do need updating.  The water pressure in the showers was very low and the cubicles small. Great location for visiting Glasgow, Falkirk wheel etc. And a nice walk into Ayr itself which has plenty of shops and a nice long sandy beech.

Lovely Site

The site is well situated for walking into Ayr with the shops or a little further to the beach. It's also a good site for walking dogs with large areas of trees/grass and a riverside path which is easily accessed. It is a well kept site with lovely flower beds and well kept grass around the pitches. The toilet block is the only thing which lets it down. Although extremely clean, the showers are very out dated and the water pressure is poor. Some of the dividing panels are also cracked and broken in the ladies showers. It can be a very busy site when the horse racing is on  and a few more showeres would be benificial. Time for an upgrade.

Superb

First stay ever at a Caravan Club site and it was fabulous. Staff very helpful and friendly, on entering the site we noticed the beautiful flowers straight away. The site was we'll laid out with large pitches. The toilet and showers were first rate , clean warm and well maintained. Within easy access to Ayr centre and railway station, a mere 10 minutes walk. We would certainly recommend this site.

Lovely Site

This is a lovely convenient site, beautifully kept by the friendly wardens. So why have I scored so low? The shower/toilet blocks are outdated and badly need refurbished. They were very clean, to the credit of the hard working wardens, but the water pressure was very poor, and during our visit one of the showers in the female block only ran cold. Also, during our visit we were dismayed to see some fellow members driving round this site at speed.
