An excellent site for peace and quiet, clean and tidy, excellent dog walk, clean facilities and very polite and friendly wardens
A gem of a site
We were delighted with our three nights at Aberbran.
Two retired campers and a Labradoodle, we found a warm welcome, nicely laid out site in beautiful surroundings and a convenient starting point for our motor trips. We explored Brecon for the canal walks and supplies as well as the Brecon Mountain Railway (at Merthyr Tydfil) for a treat.
The absence of a shower block was no problem with the usual facilities of a motorhome. As a subscriber to BT at home I had a sufficient internet connection from a BT hotspot.
Thanks to the team for all their care and attention.
A visit to Wales
A lovely site with really helpful volunteer wardens who go the extra mile to help you. Site is immaculate grass and gardens beautiful and all at a very welcome price £14 per night with electrics. Location for visiting surrounding area very handy. It would be great if all our sites were like this.
What a wonderful place
What a beautiful site in a truly stunning part of Wales. We were made to feel so welcome by Anne and Alwyn, the volunteer wardens of the site. What wonderful people they are, thankyou.
Do not let the fact there are no shower blocks put you off or no wi if for that matter it is utterly charming at Aberbran.
Thankyou once again Anne and Alwyn, we will be back. The Whartons.

Short Break
What a lovely site. Only an 1.5 hour drive from home got us to this tranquil, peaceful site. With it only being situated 0.5 mile from the relatively busy A40 we expected to hear traffic noise but no the only noise were the birds and the wind in the trees. There is a bus stop at the A40 junction and you can travel, like we did to Brecon, or the other way as far as Swansea. Brecon is a lovely Town to wander around and plenty to see. This site is like a CL but obviously a lot larger with the benefits of peace and quiet. We stayed for a long weekend and both were able to relax away from the stresses of everyday life. It was nice to actually take time to read the papers and even finish my book... Would thoroughly recommend this site to anyone looking for something similar from their time away

Short stay
A pretty site & very small with only 22 pitches and a very small dog walking area. It's peaceful & is run by volunteer wardens which is no mean feat in terms of responsibility. Do read the history of the site when it was a train station. It's available from the wardens at reception & is a fascinating read.
Two issues for motorhomers to consider are the fact that firstly you are likely only to be placed on a hard standing pitch & the ones at enterance of the site feel a little as though you are part of the car park. Secondly & most importantly, there is no means of emptying your grey water without use of a bucket. This is time consuming and something the club should remedy to avoid people inadvertently emptying their grey water into the rainstorm drains next to the taps (& thus potentially contaminating the watercourse).
There is a PYO strawberry farm at the top of the road (walking distance), that offers cream teas (June). Brecon isn't far away but requires driving for many at 4-5 miles away. As there are no on site goods for sale you need to come prepared. A good site for a stopover which we did to & from Pembrokeshire.

Peaceful, Attractive & Well-run site
A warm welcome on arrival and a lovely flower display at the entrance. Wardens extremely helpful. A lovely quiet site and still handy for Brecon and the Beacons. Good walks for the dogs - a useful file of walk ideas is kept in reception. Would recommend this site.
