Disappointing

We stayed here in June and were surprised how tight the pitches were. We checked the satellite images to make sure there was sufficient space on the site, upon arrival found the site was split in two, one half for friends and family and the other half the CL. The pitches were short and quite narrow should you want to put an awning up, everyone parked their cars in front of their caravan in stead of beside it due to the lack of space. Worst of all we were given the pitch right alongside the chemical waste disposal point this was most unpleasant.

Great CL site

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights in July 2021. The weather was great which always helps and we spent quite a bit of time visiting Shrewsbury and "places of interest" in Shropshire and East Wales. Among others we visited Attingham Park (about 3 miles from site), Benthall Hall, Powis Castle and Much Wenlock and have to say we enjoyed them all. Shrewsbury is a great place to visit with stacks of history and the Museum in the town square is a hidden gem, and its free. Wrekin View is a great CL site with five fully serviced pitches on decent sized hard standings. You get great views across the valley to the Wrekin Hill and that's where you point your TV aerial, although we only watched breakfast TV as we sat in the sunshine every night just chilling out. The owners of the site live at the entrance and although there are no security gates, (there are gates), it still felt very secure. If you plan to visit, read the warning on the website about which direction to take to get to the site. You have to go through Upton Magna village, don't try and get to the site from the Withington/Roddington side as the lane is not suitable for caravans and very few passing places. The only negative I can think of is that if you arrived and the ground was wet, you might have a struggle to back your unit up the incline to the pitch, but that would depend on your vehicle/caravan/skill. The all important question: Would we stay here again? 100% Yes.

FABULOUS

Wrekin View is a fabulous site, lovely views, well kept grass cut short with no clippings left and lots of potted plants. Water to each pitch which is an added bonus. Plenty of places & museums to visit not far away. But one (well two) of the most important factors of this fabulous site are the owners Brian & Josie... a nicer couple you'd be hard pressed to find. Thank you for all your help. We will be back if in the area again. Ian & Sue

Great cl site with lovely owners.

Just returned from a 6night stay at Wrekin view Brian the owner met us on-site and directed us to our pitch which are hard standing and fully serviced, the view from the site is outstanding and very peaceful. The site is kept spotless and has an abundance of flowers and bird feeders spread around. Brian is a lovely bloke who was always up for a chat and his local knowledge lets you know to local attractions. There is a small village and a local pub 5 minutes walk away with good ales and very friendly locals. I would definitely recommend this site and we will definitely be back.

Beautiful peaceful retreat

We decided due to present Covid conditions to cancel our usual holiday in Anglesey and stay closer to home. We didn’t have to think twice on where we wanted to return to so phoned Brian to see if he had any availability and he had. This site is a gem and its on the edge of a beautiful village with a lovely village green which is well hidden away but well worth a walk around. The site was in excellent shape and the flowers and roses that Josie and Brian tend looked wonderful. The pheasant didn’t visit the site this time but could be heard in the woods but the squirrels were still playing around the feeders. We had a visit from a thrush every day that was using a large stone outside our awning to break open snail shells and by the time we left there was quite a collection of broken shells. Again we arrived for 10 days and decided to extend another 10 days as did the people next door to us, it seems we cannot get enough of this beautiful site. We have dogs so the field behind was great to walk them morning and evening plus Haughman Hill woods was a great place to walk them with various walks to take plus a cafe that did homemade food. Another lovely holiday thanks to Brian and Josie and we have booked for next year x

So Peaceful!

We arrived at this site intending to stay for 7 nights. However, as it was so peaceful we extended our stay for another four. This was the most tranquil site we have stayed in over the past five years and was such a treat because of this. The owners Brian and Josie were a lovely and informative couple. The site is very neat and tidy.....we will be back!

A little gem tucked away

Wrekin view is a little gem of a site tucked away in rural shropshire 10mins drive from Shrewsbury. The lanes near the site are narrow but i have an 8ft wide caravan & managed with no difficulty. On arrival there was a note to say pick any pitch, so we picked pitch 1 a hard standing pitch with 16amp, water & waste & very good tv signal along with uninterrupted views of the Wrekin. The site is mown very short with no grass cuttings to worry about with pots of plants dotted around the site to make it feel part of the countryside. Brian the owner is a lovely chap who loves to make sure you are okay and advises you of places of interest including the local pub a mere 400 yds walk down the country lanes it looks really inviting & welcoming along with good food. The peace & tranquility of the site is unbelievable, so wonderful to be part of this. If you are looking for a short break i can honestly say you will mot get any better than this We will be back soon Thanks Dean & lynn & bella & bonnie the 2 standard long haired dachshunds

Stunning Site in Shropshire

Wrekin View is the first CL site I have visited. It was a inspired choice as it was just so peaceful, neat and with stunning morning views. Brian was always in attendance and chatting to all his visitors as he wandered around the site watering the roses. The site is located in a beautiful and interesting part of Shropshire. Plenty on country pubs nearby offering real ales and food. I am planning my return for late August. I can’t recommend Wrekin View more highly.

Beautiful cl

This site is wonderful, a warm welcome from Brian and Josie. The views are stunning and the sunsets amazing. During our stay we were entertained by a family of pheasants that walked the site every day. Also 2 young squirrels spent many hours running between the numerous bird feeders. The site is set at the edge of a very pretty village with loads of walks from the site across fields and country lanes. A very quiet site with loads of birds who were feeding their young while we were there. Immaculate site beautifully cared for. We have already ready booked again for August and next year.

Wonderful Site

We have just had a fourth stay with Brian and Josie. They are wonderful hosts and their site is always immaculate. Nothing is too much trouble for their visitors. A quiet village location with beautiful views. We enjoyed a fabulous meal at The Bull in Rodington. The Hare and Hounds and The Haughmond are also close by. We look forward to seeing Brian and Josie again in June. Highly recommended!
