A Haven of Tranquiliity
We visited this site for three nights last week and must say that it is one of the best CLs that we have ever stayed on, and only about an hour from home too. There was a friendly greeting on arrival and an explanation of where everything was. It's a very spacious site with grass that would put many peoples lawns to shame! The power hook ups are well spaced around the perimeter and it is not difficult to pitch up and find a good view across the levels. The shower and toilet are first rate and were always clean, and the recycling bins are clearly marked and allow most things to be recycled. Even food waste can go into the adjacent compost bin too, or be fed to the hens. The information cabin is full of useful ideas and there are even laminated maps of the local area for walks.
The local Spar shop is about 10 minutes walk (max) and weekdays opens from 0700, and 0800 on Saturday. It is even open on Sundays. The local Devonshire Arms serves nice food, welcomes dogs and has nice sitting out areas. There is so much to see and do in the surrounding area that you could spend a whole holiday there and not get bored. We cannot believe that we have missed out on the "real" Somerset for so long after living just across the border since the mid 1970's.
