One of the best sites we have been to

Stayed here Mid May 2023 for 4 nights, Loads of space between units. Great walks from site. Owners were lovely and welcoming. Electric limited to 10kwh per day with topup available if you are a heavy user. (fridge, waterheater and lighting we used 3kwh per day). Grass was kept short and tidy, but nice to see areas left wild for the flowers and bees. Toilets and showers were lovely and clean. Access very easy, but as previous reviewer said look out for the green hand painted caravan sign on the telegraph pole on the corner of New Street or you may have to turn round in the golf club entrance :-)

Really enjoyed this CL

You know that feeling when you arrive at a CL and think "Oh this looks nice"? Well this site does that and more. The directions are clear, but the last few hundred yards look out for the hand made caravan signs directing you into the site. There are 2 CLs, one is a Camping and Caravaning site (on the right) and ours is on the left. Arrivals are written on a board at the entrance. The site is large, allowing plenty of space between units. The grass was being cut, and collected, as we arrived. Its a pitch anywhere site, so you can face the morning or evening sun, or go side on and get the best of both. The water, recycling and chemical disposal are all close to the entrance and well maintained. There are toilets and showers, but we didn't use these so can't comment. Plenty of walks from the site, either down the track alongside, or through the village and pickup one of the many tracks and footpaths around. There is a pub and shop in the village, a 5 minute walk.away. The owners are friendly and we got the feeling the site was something they enjoyed running and took pride in. We will definitely return.

Fabulous site.

This was such a lovely site. Just returned from 2 nights here and would happily have stayed for much longer. The site is immaculate and so peaceful. Facilities spotless and the bonus of fresh eggs just wonderful. Excellent hardstanding pitches with electric. Such a friendly host. A short stroll into the village which has a pub, village shop and a lovely village green to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Would highly recommend.

Lots of space!

We spent 6 nights here in June. A huge mown grass field with plenty of space to choose from. There is a CS on the same site but it wasn't visible from the CL. Able to pitch our caravan facing whichever way we liked. The toilets were kept beautifully clean and although shared with the CS next door we never had to queue. We didn't use the shower but there was one available. Also a washing up room. A short walk to the Devonshire Arms for a drink and a meal and a short local walk down to the river Yeo. Lots to do in this lovely area. We visited several National Trust properties, Glastonbury, the RSPB reserve and took our inflatable kayak on the River Parret from a slipway near Huish Episcopi, only 10 minutes drive from the site. Easy paddling to Langport.

Lovely week

Just returned from a very relaxing week at this lovely site. We were welcomed and assisted to chose where we would like to site our van. Being a nervous towing passenger I always dread the last bit of the journey and accessibility, but it really wasn’t a problem. Despite the last bit of the approach being narrow it was easy to get onto the site. Toilets clean , £1 charge for use of shower. Super walks for our little dog direct from the site. Little shop in village being refurbed but little shops available in Somerton nearby. Super site for visits to RSPB sites nearby. Thank you!

Space and views

We arrived on site, We could park where we wanted which way we wanted. The site is huge. Loads of space. We chose the sunniest spot, but didn't expect 18 nights of a heatwave 31 deg most of the time. There are also shady spots. Toilet and shower (£1) is spotless. There is also another site next to this one C & C club. with the same facilities. There is also washing up area and freezer for home grown sausages and burgers. also fresh eggs. It's handy for a lot of places but a must is Wells and Glastonbury. The village a short walk has a shop and post office although not a lot of stock. A village pub, and a church. We were lucky enough to visit when the church had Songs of Praise on the village Green with brass band . A good couple of hours and the villagers were all very welcoming. A site we will def visit again at £14 a night too with wifi

relaxing time

We have stayed at this CL many times. Just home after 3 weeks stay, very relaxing time, as always. Owners very welcoming, and give lots of recommendations of places to visit. Brilliant area for cycling and walking. Grass always short. Looking forward to going again in the Autumn. Pam and Peter C

Very soft ground in winter limited hard standing

We arrived in our motorhome to a nice welcoming sign directing us to the field. There was limited hard standing by the entrance and as we tried to manoeuvre to find a level spot we got bogged down in the mud. This meant we had to be towed out, interestingly somebody else was towed out earlier in the day, but no signs were up nor any areas roped off. Fortunately there was space in the daughter’s adjoing site where they permitted us to stay. So while the site is advertised as being open all year hard standing is limited and the field itself is too soft to drive on. Other than that facilities and location are excellent. Stayed 10 November.
