Lovely surroundings

Just spent a lovely weekend here, site has 5 hard standings and is well kept. Very pleasant walk down the hill to Whalley. At the bottom of the hill you can turn left to Whalley or right to barrow where a 5 min walk takes you to a lovely pub called The Eagle at Barrow, very nice inside. Whalley itself has some shops, pubs, and Restaurants. Would recommend the Dog Inn for pub lunch, they also accept dogs in the bar which is good for us. Whalley  gets busy in the evening all the pubs are full and we had a lovely italian meal at Amico Mio.  Lovely to wake up on a Sunday morning with nothing but birds singing and when you open the blinds lovely views from all sides of your caravan!

A recommended CL

We used this CL last weekend as an inpromptu weekend away to check some repairs to our caravan had been done OK. Have passed this CL many times before but we were put off by the closeness to the A59 and its possible road noise. We need not have worried as although the road noise can be heard it is not too obtrusive and I should imagine once the trees and hedges are in full leaf the noise would subside even more. We were told by the owner that the electric is only 6 amp not 16 but must admit to having the heater on 2Kw (8 amps) along with the battery charger and fridge and we did not suffer from any tripping. Each post has its own reset so not a problem if you do :-) Whalley is a nice village to visit and very close by. Views from the CL are nice with good tv reception. Pitches are spacious and only slightly sloping. We will definitely return again. The only negative (and NOT the cl owners fault!!) was another member pitched up in a motorhome who allowed his dog to run freely around the site :-( I took the dog back to him but to no affect.

A very good CL

The location is very central with good access. Position of CL at the top of a field gives good panaromic views. There is some backgound noise from the surrounding, but out of site, roads. Not too intrusive though and quiet at night. Water a bit of a walk down the access road to farm, approx 100 mtrs, where there is a single toilet and toilet emptying point. 16 AMP hook ups as standard. Local walks, good choice of on road or pathways. In the next village good pub although the meals are quite expensive but to a very high satandard.Plenty of other pubs and cafes in the area, especilally Whalley with its Abbey. Lovely family running CL, with warm welcome. Reccommend for visiting the East Lancashire/ Pendle (with its Witches) and Western areas of North Yorkshire areas.
