London marathon weekend ideal site

We chose this site because of train links to London. Hersham station being 1.8 miles away and a 30 min journey to London. We were staying for the Marathon and needed to visit the running show and get to the start on race day. The site was quiet with a riverside position and lots of wildlife. Martin, the host was very helpful and provided us with directions and train information. He could not have been more welcoming. I can fully recommend this site. No toilets or showers but we did not need them. Water and waste facilities were available along with EHU. This site was a brilliant option for marathon weekend. We took a bike to leave at the station so I did not have to walk after running. The journey in and back could not have worked out better and of course the site is outside of the ULEZ. We plan to be back next year.

Fabulous site with a warm welcome

We have enjoyed dozens of CL's and this is one of our very happiest stays. Lovely flat, level field, nicely trimmed and clippings removed. Lots of electrical points and all the other conveniences (no loo or shower but we didn't care). Electric security gates and a peaceful cul de sac riverside location. You will not find a nicer man than Martin, who is a real character, knows everything about the surroundings, and even presented us with some apples from one of his trees! Some overhead noise from Heathrow take-offs but not enough to be a problem. We saw loads of birds, squirrels, friendly farm cats and even a wild fox. Cannot recommend highly enough, will be back next year - thank you!

A gem of a camping spot!

We read other reviews of this Willow tree site and found ourselves wholeheartedly agreeing with all the praiseworthy comments. It is indeed a scenic, peaceful and pleasant site yet so well positioned for access to historical and cultural amenities in the area, and indeed the capital. But one of the site's greatest assets is the owners, as Martin and family will do their best to help you plan and make the best of your stay ...Martin was ever so helpful in providing travelling instructions and advice (wise, in advance, especially if you are towing), and can provide maps or local time-tables etc.. He also provided us with a warm welcome, checks on our welfare, and even gifts from the garden! On a stroll down to the edge of the river Mole there was plenty of intriguing natural history, and, Martin said, the last remaining, centuries-old oak tree, from the days when the site was covered with the oak trees that provided the wood for the fleet for fighting off the Armada. Wow! We fully recommend staying there and will be doing so ourselves in the near future. Thanks Martin for making this beautiful site available. J&J

Lovely, peaceful stay, excellent base for visiting London and other attractions

Martin and family were super hosts and made us very welcome. The site is well maintained with level pitches and good security. It is peacefully situated down a country lane yet close to local amenities. We chose the site as a base to visit Hampton Court Palace (by train from Hersham), RHS Wisley and Brooklands Motor Museum and it worked perfectly for us. It has a real "getting away from it all" atmosphere yet is only 30 minutes by train from Central London. We will definitely be returning next season. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Terrific find

So refreshing to have a brilliant CL in this part of the country. The family are lovely, so helpful and friendly. The site is beautiful with lovely grounds and the added bonus of being very secure. For those wanting to see the sights so many things are close by and easily accessible by road or public transport. Would thoroughly recommend this site to everyone and it has everything you would want from a CL site.

Fabulous!

This is a fabulous CL on the outskirts of London, with easy access and transport links. A very warm welcome by Martin who, throughout our two week stay, ensured all our needs were met. A lovely calm, quiet, level site in a rural setting in spite of being in the London suburbs. We will return! J&J

Thanks Martin!

We had an excellent stay at this gem of a CL. The owner Martin made us feel very welcome when we arrived far too late, and helped us to pitch up in the dark, made sure we were all settled and even offered us a meal! I have never known such kindness at a CL! Mentioning that we would like to get the train to London soon elicited a printed map with directions and train times. It is a lovely peaceful site with immaculate grounds, handy taps and waste disposal, and a sense of calm. Access from the M25 is simple and local roads are no problem for caravans. The motor-mover was handy for the final installation but the pitches are level and there is plenty of space. Walking down to the river in the morning listening to the numerous varieties of birds was a treat. This is a marvellous site run by a very welcoming and attentive host, and I highly recommend it.

A lovely tranquil CL and great location for days out

What a great experience from booking until we left, Martin the owner was fantastic when I booked I asked about how far public transport links are and when we arrived Martin gave directions to the local train station and bus stops asked where planed to go then the following morning he had printed off local bus times so we had the information to hand, this is just a small example of how attentive he was to ensure that we had a great time staying at his site. When we arrived he was waiting at the gate for us showing how to operate the electronic gate and showed us our pitch, drinking water and waste disposal and asked if we needed milk. As others have said the site is both extremely tranquil and excellently located for attractions and local facilities, we observed foxes playing only a few feet from the front of our caravan and say green woodpeckers, kestrels with young on a nest and even a couple of parakeets among other wildlife, our 4 year old loved watching the horses that were at the stables behind the site and the planes that flew overhead from Heathrow which as another reviewer mentioned were not obtrusive. Martin says he doesn’t like to book to many units onto the site even though there is mores than enough room for more, the site has a lot more area in addition to the pitches with the ehu there’s a large grassed area which gave plenty of room for my little one to have a run around and fly his kite also there’s the river Mole which runs pass the bottom of the site but was far enough away for us to not worry about him going near without us. There’s a Lidl not far from the site for essentials and the nearby garage has a 24hr Revolution Laundry the ones with a standard and large washer and a large drier, the bus stops are a 13 minute walk from the site where we caught a bus to Kingston and then the train into London for the day although there was a train station in Hersham it is outside the oyster zone. This is such a lovely site and location that we will be returning as there’s so much to explore locally and easily accessible for days out further afield, I would happily recommend this site.

Lovely peaceful stay in a convenient spot

We had a lovely overnight stay, and we will be back. We were met by Martin at the gate. The site was easy to find and was surprisingly rural and quiet considering it is in such a busy part of south-east England. It is easy to access various places such as Hampton Court and Wisley Gardens, and close to the M25 and A3. A great place.

Lovely Friendly Site

Just come home from a 4 night stay at this lovely CL. We were met by Martin who showed us the pitches and where the facilities all were. He also explained a little background of the area and where the local shops etc where. He also asked if we needed milk or any other provisions as he was just going to the shops. The pitches overlook large open fields within which is the beautiful large Willow Tree that I imagine the farm was named after. The fields lead right down to the river. Its a lovely walk around the fields where you could take your chairs or picnic blankets. The photos of the site really don't do it justice. It's positioned ideally to visit Wisley Gardens which I'd recommend and Hampton Court, amongst other lovely places of interest. Martin and his family are very helpful and kind and we enjoyed two bags of plums from their trees as well as a cucumber. Very nice site and owners, we would definitely recommend.
