STOP AT THE HOUSE BEFORE GOING TO PITCH!

After visiting this site on previous occasions as it was a lovely peaceful site, we arrived and began setting up. On previous visits we had been told if no one was at the house to go on through. We did not see any cars so assumed the house empty. Wrongly as it transpired. We had parked and were just setting up when the owners of the CL site turned up. To say we were thoroughly chastised was to put it mildly (for not stopping at the house) it was not the welcome we had previously experienced. We had immediately apologised but that clearly was not enough we were told to move the caravan due to leaf blowing. We had both been really looking forward to this short break and to have been spoken to in such a manner, felt the magic of the place had been broken. We decided to leave, it would have helped if we had been told of the leaf blowing when we had booked the day before as we would not have chosen to visit,on this occasion

Cracking little site

We stayed here in June and what a lovely, well cared for and well laid out site. Plenty of space between pitches with a choice of hard standing or grass pitches. The owners were friendly and welcoming and, although there was also a rally on, couldn't have been more helpful. Although just off a busy main road, noise was minimal and there was lovely views.  There's a dog walk on site and an information hut too. With handy access to lots of places of interest plus a great Indian restaurant within ten minutes walk what more could you want. Oh yes, there's also a caravan dealership with accessory store across the way. Pity we don't live close enough to be a frequent visitor.

Perfect CL

A perfect example of what a CL can be. From the friendly welcome to the beautiful pitches it would be hard to find fault with this CL. Each pitch is level, gravelled and set amongst trees with EHU alongside. There are comprehensive recycling facilities and a very useful local information shed. The town of Uckfield is a gentle 25 minute walk away but the road is busy so take care after dark. Definitely recommended and will certainly visit again, thank you to everyone at White House Farm.

A lovely site

We were warmly welcomed and Mrs Grant came to talk to us regularly to see we were OK.  The site is lovely and very convenient for shops and rerstaurants in Uckfield.  Three wonderful National Trust sites not too far away.  Closest was Sheffield Park Gardens, absolutely stunning at this time of year with rhododendrons and azaleas ablaze with colour.  Scotney Castle and Sissinghurst also within reach and also stunning in different ways. A great stay.

Couldn't ask for better

Our first caravan and our first trip away. Chose the site based on CC reviews and it's location to our family for visiting purposes. The site was easy to find and well laid out with plenty of room between the six hard standings. Facilities were as stated and in good order. Found the hard standing a bit, well, hard, when it came to driving in the awning pins, so make sure you have the hardened 'nail' type! This is a peaceful site with rabbits, squirrels, Corn Crakes and Jays amongst the local wild life. Even though the main road isn't too far away, it really isn't an issue at any time. Uckfield is under 2 miles away and provides all the necessary facilities you could need plus the siting of the caravan dealer across the road from the sites front gate, just in case!! Many thanks Cathy for providing a thoroughly recommendable site to stay at.

Very Glad to have discovered this CL !

It's the nicest little site I think we have stayed on. It's a CL at the back of a farm but is in a wooded glade with proper pitches just like a big site. The pitches are well separated and have a nice view of woodland and fields. The attention to detail is the best I have seen. Even the farmyard at the end of the drive to the CL is immaculately kept. There are flower pots with netting round to stop the rabbits eating the flowers. The rubbish area has the best re-cycle options we have seen and the chemical emptying was one of the most hygienic even with a little tray screwed to the post to put the toilet cassette cap in ! Chichester Caravans are based opposite the entrance and are well worth a visit with a big accessory shop, and lots of caravans to investigate aswell ! The dog walks through the wood were very pretty, with a field for a younger dog to play ball in. We had to cancel a trip a month ago due to the ill health of an older dog and the owners were very kind, especially as we had had to unavoidably cancel at the last minute, so we were happy to be able to visit, with the older dog and enjoy the relaxing surroundings. When the sun came out, the site really was the loveliest little glade you can imagine. We will definitely be visiting again.

Wonderful start to caravanning

We chose to visit this CL site as our first test of our very first caravan as it is not far from home and is conveniently close to a Chichester Caravan center. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the 5 pitch area which was nicely spaced (loads of room between pitches) and great parkland feel with a number of trees. The rubbish, water point and waste disposal were all easy to find but suitably discrete - there is a little noise from the nearby road but that is to be expected and never really becomes a disturbance. The owner was very welcoming and freely gave us a couple of tips for our first time, a couple of other pitch inhabitants came to watch the newl monkey fight with an awning and helped us with advice and pointers. One friendly couple donated a very nice bottle of wine to celebrate our venture.... In all this is a nice site for nice people - we would thoroughly recommend it.
