Great Views and Nice and Quiet

Just a stopover for us but found the site nice and easy, Pitches are on a slight slope so blocks needed at the front but nothing major. Owner came down from the farm to make sure everything was ok and had a chat. The views over to Northern Lakeland Fells and Dumfries and Galloway area are superb on a clear day , also the young cows in the next field visited us to make sure we were ok. Plenty to do out and about. If you are going to stop for a few days you will need to use your Caravans Toilet and Shower as site only has the basics . Will return Many Thanks

Nice and Peaceful.

Stayed for 2 nights en route to Edinburgh. Lovely clean site, easy to find off the motorway. As previously mentioned levelling blocks area needed. Close to many attractions, will return again, definitely the place to stop just of the motorway. Lovely views over the countryside.

Not just a stopover

We have just got back from 5 nights stay here and had a really lovely time. The site is tidy and quiet with lovely views and lots to do and see in the area. The owners were also really nice and very helpful. Although a perfect stopover due to the short distance from the M74 don't discount a longer stay. Our 'van is small so we didn't have a problem but there was a larger van and a motorhome that needed blocks for leveling on some parts of the site. As noted previously the approach road is single track but it really isn't very long and there are lots of passing places so shouldn't be any problem. It was lovely to watch the cows in the field next to the CL and I may well try to go back next spring for the promised lambs.

A good stop over site

I have stayed on this site three times now and enjoyed every one. The approach road is a bit long but straight so you can see the full length before you decide to enter. There is a lovely walk immediately opposite the gate leading to a three mile circular walk at the top where I spotted a red squirrel. Plenty to do and see in the area, this area is mostly bypassed by people going up to the highlands but is well worth a visit. Mrs Clark is very friendly and will give you any information about the surrounding area.  Will definitely be calling again

A lovely quiet little spot for a CL.

We have stayed here 4 times on one night stop overs. It is an easy couple of miles drive from the motorway. There is enough hard standing (slight sloping) not to have to worry about wet conditions. There is everything you need there from a CL; elec, water and somewhere to empty your toilet (well all we need). Having entered from a different direction on our last stay we saw a beautiful river (and pub) a couple of miles away so intend to stay for more than one night next time. Mrs Clarke has been a delight on all 4 occasions. The price is very sensible (dare I say cheap) a rarity these days. We have enjoyed the fantastic views on all 4 occasions - it has made a great start to our last two Scottish holidays. The most we have seen on site is 3 units. I have marked overall rating as 4 only as some may require showers - for us it is a 5.

A delightful stopover

We stayed at this site on way to Commonwealth Games. It is a lovely location and we were made very welcome by the owner,Mrs Clarke who was extremely busy helping the family on the farm with the harvest . I would stay there for longer when I am in the area again an Ideal C L.

Great CL

Well placed for stopover being only 2 miles from M74. Well spaced pitches (two are hard standing) with great views. Tidy and well kept site, which is neatly set out in a row of 5 pitches with uninterrupted views across the countryside and to the sea (on a clear day). Goods walks direct from the site. Owner very friendly. Will definitely visit again.

Peaceful and relaxing

We liked it here & were sorry we were only able to stay one night – hopefully we’ll be able to visit again for a longer break. It’s a basic site (hook-up, water & refuse facilities) but in a peaceful situation with far-reaching views. Not that far from the M74 & handy for Annan, Gretna etc.
