Excellent base for cycling

Stayed July 2020 for 5 nights. As mentioned site slopes but managed to level MH using large ramps. Field may be soft after rain as our ramps began to sink slowly! Extensive views but the trade off is a bit exposed when wet and windy. Used this location to access to Tarka Trail. We would suggest that to get to it you exit the site and go up hill not down. Turn right and go along this level road and go right again. This road comes out by the garden centre. On the last 25m before the junction go on the pavement on the right which brings you to a crossing with a centre refuge. The more direct route down from site joins the hectic A road and is best avoided. Once across a sign points down to the Tarka trail down a short connecting path. Left towards Barnstaple and across the bridge and on towards Instow beach etc. You can see the cafe and bridge on the other side of the estuary from your pitch! Note coming back the same way is not easy as it is very steep. Lots of places to join the trail with kids if you take the car and bikes if easier. Site is quiet farm location and has a septic tank for toilet waste and bins/recycling etc. Grey waste is bucket and hedge! Friendly owners and an ideal base.
