This was our second visit to Welltrough and hopefully won’t be the last, We have just spent 5 days and nights overlooking the most beautiful landscape and we’re lucky enough to have had lovely weather. We had all we ever need from a site, which is our own EHU, water tap. waste water outlet, peace and pleasant walks from the site. Nick was always about ready to help but never intrusive.
Not as described
Nice well maintained site, with well maintained walks around the farm.
While we were there, the water supply was cut off due to a burst in the village, and Nick had printed and distributed notes to all caravans and glamping pods on both sites before anyone was up.
However, the toilet (singular) and shower are not for the exclusive use of members, as claimed, due to the other site the farm operates also using them. While the site description does note that 8p /kWh is included in the £25 site fee there is no mention that it us 50p/kWh on the meter (yes I accept the charges from the power companies are ridiculous and outwith Nick's control and what he passes on to members is his choice, but tell this before we book, not after.)
Gem of a site
We stayed here for a long weekend and it was so peaceful with stunning views. Generous pitch sizes and fully serviced which was a treat! Beautifully kept and a variety of walks around the farmland on clear grassy tracks. We used about £3.50 per day in electric with careful planning (heating on twice and phone charging and of course cups of tea!) No washing up area but a handy information point and clean shower and toilet.
We will definitely be back.
Amazing site
Three night stay here and we will be back. We stayed in the CL area which has the best views - but the rest of the site is fabulous too and all have good views.
Easy check in - they just send you a code for the gate in advance.
Peace and quiet is the best it could be. The farm has acres of land to walk around and pathways are mown in. Extremely well maintained site. Pitches are well maintained and it’s great having the water supply and drainage there.
Two toilets and showers - modern and spotless. A coin exchange area for £1 coins for the electricity. We used our gas kettle and just had our water heater on when we were doing dishes, and we only spent £5 in electricity in three days.
Two pubs walking distance, had a drink at one and the other was closed. Got a takeaway from Hot Spot delivered. Fab food.
Would highly recommended and if you are thinking of booking then book !
3 Day Stopover
Stopped here just for a few days stopover before heading south but could have easily stayed longer. Totally relaxing , very tidy with lovely well cut walks round the fields and to the pub if you need something to eat. Will definitely return

So peaceful and clean
We have just spent five days on this beautiful site. We do not often make a review but felt that we should as there has been a lot of noise about the electric and we had been a bit nervous about this. Firstly, we made sure the gas was full. We ran the system mainly on this using only electric for fridge, TV (in the evening for a few hours before bed, the usual for us), hair drier and lights (LED and again, only for a few hours in the evening). Total cost for 5 days was £10, so £2 a night. We cannot see a problem with this especially when you see the amount of work that has gone into making this site very beautiful and maintained daily. Security was great and reassuring especially as our motor mover had broken and we were struggling to get the lock on the wheel to align. The scenery is amazing from any position on the site. Agree with the lady about the wind but even the amazing Nick would struggle to control that element.... and on a hot day it would be welcome for most people, just not good for Bar-B-Q fans, so take your wind break with you. There is always a way around things and caravanning and motor homing is often about working it all out, overcoming problems and getting on with it. But most of all relaxing and chilling. This place is perfect for that. Thanks Nick and well done.

Fantastic Dog Walks (Doggy Heaven)
This was our first visit to the site we stayed for four nights with our two dogs. On arrival you have to go through the security gate with pass code which was sent by e-mail previously. After driving through the farmyard with clear signage directing us to the CL plots all hard standing and fully serviced. Lovely mowed grass area,s at the sides, splendid views with amazing dog walks around the perimeter of the farm. Two pubs within walking distance providing meals (check opening days).
Please note club hand book states exclusive use of showers and toilet for CL users however this was clearly not the case., while we were stayed. There were only two toilets and two showers available for all CL users and the 15 other touring pitches on the adjoining caravan site. Luckily there were only nine vans altogether while we were visiting, clearly if the site had been full I feel that this would of been a concern. You have to pay for your electric by meter, the cost is 50p a unit with no free units that we were aware of included in the site fee. After the first day it was proving expensive so we changed everything over to gas. Overall we had a lovely holiday but due to the lack of toilets and showers and cost of the electricity we will not be returning.

Fantastic site
Just had a really good week at Welltrough farm, we didn’t stay on the CL part of the site because it was fully booked. The views from the CL are amazing, but to be honest every pitch has fantastic views, and very generous sized pitches. The owner Nick has cut a grass path all the way around his land making a lovely walk, you can also walk to 2 pubs in different directions each about 3/4 mile away. Our dogs loved saying hello to the Lama’s every day. You have to pay for your electricity which Is a metered, we used about £15 for the week, heating on a couple of hours a night and heating for hot water.
Plenty of canal walks close by which we enjoyed. We had lovely food at the Broughton Arms at Rode Heath which is right next to the canal.
We hope to be back in the future it was that nice a site.
Just the spot!
Peaceful, clean, great views and good facilities. Warm welcome from Nick and site manager. Yes, you pay for electricity but our three night stay using heater, kettle, toaster, fridge and grill cost us £1.70.
Excellent security.
We will definitely be returning.
Very good location for NT and HH as well as Jodrell bank which you can see from the site. The local pub was not very welcoming so may well not return there but good alternatives just a few miles away.
