We stayed here for 4 nights in October. A lovely site, very easy to find. The views of the fields and cows are great, and we stayed during the very high winds but it was well sheltered and we hardly noticed.
The area is beautiful and you can have a nice walk down to Stamford Bridge.
David, whilst we never managed to catch each other, was very easy to contact and replied to any questions I immediately.
Only 1 tiny ….the chemical waste could do with a handle as my husband had to lift it off with a screw driver!
peace and tranquility
We have just returned from a couple of nights here, it was so quiet and peaceful, with beautiful views across to the Yorkshire Wolds. good directions and communication before we visited, really friendly welcome. Excellent value for money, we will certainly be visiting again, with our bikes next time.

My stay at Upper Helmsley Hall
This was my 1st stay here, only stayed 2 nights but I could have stayed longer. The views are stunning and quite a lot of wildlife to be seen. Had a nice welcome from David who explained where everything was. Electric is sited in one place so you could need a long cable. I definitely recommend this site and will definitely be returning for another visit

Alwyn & Pat Motorhomers
Having recently returned from a 5night stay, we can confirm all that has been said in previous revues by other delighted members and we also enjoyed meeting David & Doreen during our stay.
David was very helpful with his information also very obliging when we asked if it was possible to make a late departure on
the day we left the site.
Unfortunately, David had a bad fall before we left and looked in a bad way with several injuries sustained in the fall, so from
both of us and also Tom & Christine who had been staying with us we send our best wishes and hope you have made a good recovery.
Hope to return at some point in the future.
Peaceful haven.
Lovely views from a well kept site.
David and his wife were very friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed.
We plan to return when we can.

What a Find!
Spent five nights here during the summer of 2020. This place is fantastic! Quite, beautiful views all the things that have been said elsewhere. If there is one thing to be wary of, you should ensure you have plenty of long electrical hook up cable. Electrics are sourced from a central point so could be a problem if you arrive unprepared. Everyone we dealt wihh during our stay couldn't have been more helpful. Excellent place, definitely recommended and we would hope someday to return.
Wonderful in a 35ft winnebago
Upper Helmsley Hall, what a wonderful gem! Truly lovely host David and his wife met us and made us so very welcome. Arrived with my 35ft RV with tow car so access is a little tricky, but is simple to achieve with some point persons! Can be accessed with a very long and large american RV. Views are stunning, access to local area and attractions is easy, not sure about public transport as had our own tow car. The site has great water and EHU so our 5 day stay was wonderful, weather end oct was very kind, we had a really superb stay and will definitely have David and Upper Helmsley Hall on our favourites and revisit list. Thank you Upper Helmsley Hall xx
Beautiful Views
The site is in a quiet location with beautiful views. Excellent access to York and its attractions. Great location for walking. The River Derwent offers great walks and a walk to the mill at Howsham is a must. Recently restored Mill and Archimedes screw is amazing. Stamford Bridge is a couple of miles away. The electric on site has recently been updated to !6 amps which is great. You do need to ensure you take a few cables as the electric is all located in one shed and you need to run your cables around the perimeter of the site. The entrance is quite tight and should be entered from the A166 and not the A64. Great welcome from the owners. The only criticism would be that the fresh water and Elsan waste hose should be kept completely seperate. Had an amazing stay and will return.
Great site
This is a fantastic site with gorgeous views from your window. Ian who looks after the site is a great chap very friendly and helpful. David who looks after the hall is also what I have said about Ian and keeps the grass nicely cut. I have been a few times to this peaceful site and will continue to do so in the future.
