Perfect CL site

We have just spent a wonderful week at Uplands CL and we would highly recommend it. A very well organised site, from the provided directions to the warm welcome and the outstanding facilities. Top quality hard standing meant that even in inclement weather, the caravan didn't get wet and muddy inside. The bathroom is close to what you would expect from an en-suite in a hotel and Clare and family are most welcoming. We enjoyed lovely views from our caravan out towards the National Park, and it was a delight to wake to the sound of bird song each morning and fall asleep to the sound of owls. No road noise here. The clear nights also provided a fantastic display of stars. If you are looking for peace and quiet, excellent facilities and good access to a variety of stunning locations, look no further. We will be staying here again. Thank you Clare and family for a wonderful week in North Devon.

Fantastic

The owners of this site Colin and clare really know how to run a site. They have set the bar really high for all other cl locations. This site is as well organised as any club owned site we have visited. Easy to find, clean and a warmer welcome you will not find, and we have visited a lot of cl sites. The shower and wc facilities are spotless, warm and very well organised. All I would ask is please don't come as we won't get a pitch.!!!

The very best of the best cl site

Can’t fault this site Clare, Colin and their daughter were extremely welcoming greeted us with tea& biscuits. The toilet and shower area was the best we’ve ever seen on any cl and the views were outstanding. Good walking facility for walking our dog poppy a very relaxing week wouldn’t hesitate to return. Excellent

Great CL. Hardstandings were great and perfectly flat. Views were lovely over the valley. As you are in the real countryside the stars are night were really clear. Bathroom facilities are the best I've found on a CL lot of thought gone in to the fit and layout and were kept immaculate. Great welcome on arrival and very friendly owners. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic CL!

This is one of the most friendly CLs that we have ever visited. When we booked we were sent helpful directions on email - essential with the narrow Devon lanes! On arrival Clare and Colin were really welcoming, including giving us tea and biscuits while we ran around getting water, electricity etc working. As Caravanners themselves they have set up this CL brilliantly. Every pitch has its own water supply, there is a beautiful shower room, toilet etc, loads of local leaflets and as a bonus Clare sometimes makes cakes for the community shop....and if you ask nicely...! We got to know all the other caravanners, it’s that sort of place. Our neighbours helped with our awning, the neighbours the other side with tuning the TV. It’s an absolutely brilliant CL and we will be returning next time we are in north Devon....you should go there too!

Peace and Tranquility

Very warm welcome to this wonderful site that is very well run and has everything you could ask for in a CL site. Clare and Colin are extremely helpful and made the stay with them very relaxing. Warm welcome to the dogs as well. Won't hesitate to return. Nice views, very quiet and we enjoyed the bat flying around in the late evening!

Wonderful place to stay

We were totally amazed to be given a cup of tea and biscuits by the owners on our arrival. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The toilet and shower area was kept clean and fresh. There was even a fridge/freezer for caravanners use! We always struggle to get the shopping in our fridge/freezer so having an overflow is a brilliant idea. Clear directions were available to get to nearest town and churches. When they knew my husband liked walking, they quickly came up with directions for those too. Lovely dog walk area on site and lovely views. Certainly recommend this site.

if only all CLs where like this

We have just had 2 weeks at Uplands and it is one of the best CLs we have been on. We were greeted by a hot drink and biscuits, and when we left Colin and Claire came to see us off. The site was clean and the bathroom was spotless (I don't usually use site showers but had no hesitation to use this one) The only problem we found was the hard standing was so hard we or should I say my husband, had a job getting the pegs in for the awning but he managed with a bit of puffing.steel ones are a must. Colin and Claire were both very friendly and nothing was too much bother. We found the community shop had essentials but for a larger shop South Moulton or Barnstable were just a few miles away and we called there on our way home and left the frozen food in the fridge freezer available to us caravaners. Well done Colin and Claire for making this a really good site where a lot of thought has gone into making our holiday so good.

SAD TO LEAVE

The title of this review sais it all really. We had a lovely time here at Uplands, the site is imaculate and we had fantastic restfull time. Each pitch has water which is brilliant and saved a lot of hassle. The weather for the whole 12days we were there was fabulous..Claire and Colin are lovely people and work so hard to keep such an imaculate site. The shower rooms spotless,it was a shame to get even a blade of grass on the floor. Our little westie Digby thought it was great too. There is a freezer available to use which we found invaluable and we just love everything about it.I reckon you have guessed that we are going to make a return visit. Its the only site ive been too where I truly did not want to come home.Chittlehamholt is a very pretty little village with a good community shop selling most things that you would need.its run by volunteers run the shop. You will often see Colin or Claire doing a shift in there.Claire made some lovely bread puddding to sell in there, but before she took it there she brought a piece round to the van for everyone.Yummy. The approuch is rather interesting and narrow, but then I am rather a bad passenger, hubby didnt see it as a problem at all.All worth it when you get there. Thankyou again Claire,Colin and family for making our hols so wonderfull.xxx
