So peaceful - a lovely place for our holiday

We've just come back from a lovely peaceful 9 days at Ty Cerrig. Myfanwy came to greet us on arrival, which was very nice. Hook up, water and TV are all close to the van. The freesat box was an unexpected addition to the holiday. There are 3 hard standing pitches and we were lucky that we were on one. It rained. As it does in Wales. The grassy areas became quite boggy but they'll survive. The lovely babbling brook became a raging torrent but it was still a calming sound. We found plenty to do in the area. Did a couple of the little steam train trips but there are plenty more in the area. Lots of walking. Bala and Dolgellau are both pleasant local towns. The coast at Barmouth is about 1\2 hour away. We also did one of Myfanwy's cooking mornings. We went back to the van with bread rolls, Bara Brith, Welsh cakes and scones. We'd use the site again. It's a very peaceful place to relax and get away from normal life. The views are pretty good too.

Peaceful, scenic, friendly site

This is our third time at this site. As before we received a very warm welcome from Myfanwy who showed us which pitch was free to use. She enquired about our journey there then left us to set up. It is a beautiful place, when you look out of the window and see sheep grazing merrily. Lambs playing in the fields, cant ask for more. In the information/shower room I found an "honesty box" next to home made goodies. We can recommend the Bara Birth and the 3 fruit marmalade, and reasonably priced. We have decided that we will definitely be returning again next year. Many thanks to Myfanwy, John and Family.

Just Chillin'

Just back from a couple of days at Ty Cerrig. So peaceful and tranquil. Perfect spot for a quiet few days getting away from it all. The Evans family busy working the farm , but very friendly and accommodating . We had problems with our TV lead, they lent us one. Lovely walks up hills and through the Forrest. Will def. visit again.

Lovely Rural Retreat

Spent a very pleasant 3 nights at this site. Its in a very quiet location with the only thing likely to disturb you is the sheep. Water points and electric hook ups are well placed and the shower and toilets are clean and placed near the farmhouse in separate building. The coast and mountains are all close by and I would recommend the traffic free cycle trail from Dolgellau to Barmouth, If you fancy something more adventurous Cader Idris is not to far away. All in all a great spot.

Lovely Stay

My Wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Ty Cerrig for 6 nights at the end of August. This is a lovely CL site where care has been taken in the layout. Nothing was to much trouble for our hosts, it was a pleasure to meet such a pleasant family. Really nice to have water on each pitch. Will be returning, Thanks

lovely CL in a beautiful setting

This is a very nicely laid out CL, with 3 x Hard standing pitches available and all pitches within easy reach of EHU and water. Other visitors said the satellite TV hookup worked well too, although i didn't bother with it. The setting is lovely, with a stream running beside the field, but be warned that this normally gentle babble became a torrent after heavy rain, which didn't bother me, but might be a bit noisy for others and a saftey concern for children. The CL field was nicely mowed short and the toilet and shower room was kept clean with a nice hot shower. I found Mfanwy and John very friendly and welcoming hosts. I loved the site, but the less mobile might find the distance from the field to the waste and tipping points and the stone stairs up to the toilet/shower difficult, although there was plenty of room to drive and park a car up to the tipping points if necessary. A picnic table and chimnea were sited next to the field for guests use, which is a nice touch. I found a red kite in the field next to the drive each time I set out in the morning and loved the F15's and Tornado GR4's doing low passes right over the van during my stay. I enjoyed 2 long walks from the site itself and drove the 10 mins to walk up Cadair Idris too.  i also set off on my bike from the site for two hard bike rides into and around Coed Y Brenin forest as well. Dolgellau is 10 mins down the main road (Eurospar just off the main road going into town is the nearest 'supermarket') Bala is 10-15 mins up the main road. The walk up the mountain above the site 'Aran Fawddwy' (905m) is tough, but the views on a clear day were spectacular! The land around the site is all 'open access' making it ideal for walkers. I loved this site for hard walks and rides without using the car, but lots of more gentle tourist options are easily avaialble too. I will definitely be back!

A location to be remembered

We have just returned after staying 4 nights at this lovely CL . The surroundings were marvellous and the facilities absolutely Top Notch. Good sized pitches ,both grass or hard standing, with satellite hook up and water points on pitch. The owner Myfanwy was the perfect host being very helpful and friendly and did everything she could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. It is a site that we will return to.

A Lovely Find

We came on this CL at the last minute on a break away with our motorhome. Found and booked on the day (in May) with the only issue being incorrect co-ordinates printed in the handbook; resolved quickly with a phone call. The welcome was great when we arrived and got pitched. The site is a working farm, but has good facilities nevertheless. The scenery is beautiful and the setting peaceful. There is a lack of signal for TV and some phone networks; but there is also satellite TV connection at the EHU points (great to get electronic peace as well at times!). My wife got to see a calf being born, and we both enjoyed conversation with Myfanwy and her husband. For a random pick from the handbook, it turned out to be a lovely find; a little jewel of a site that was well worth the visit.
