A WONDERFUL ESCAPE

We have recently returned from a two-week break at this delightful CL. Mr and Mrs Ridsdale were very friendly and helpful although it was a bit of a disappointment to find their free-range hens on strike for some of the time we were there! The facilities were of a very high standard and well maintained. The area is truly unspoiled and perfect for two of our activities - walking and cycling. The acid test - will we go back? Definitely!!

big welcome

well a long weekend here was spoiled by the weather , which ment we stayed close to the site , we found there to be lots of farm traffic on the narrow lane to the site. which did not make a quite site.. maybe we chose the wrong time of the year, but we would like to say the welcome is very big .

peace

After a terrible journey to the site, we where made very welcome. The owners could not have been more helpful. This carried on for the time of our visit. Lovely site, yes you do get some farm traffic noise, but that come's with being in the country. Would come here again. Lovely break.

Lovely CL

This site has had so many good reviews there is nothing really to add - delightful. One word of caution, the hard standings are set alongside the country lane, on which farm traffic started very early in the morning and was quite heavy during harvest- time. So if you are looking for a lazy start to the day - forget it.

Best cl I have ever been to

We booked this cl for a 4 day break. Best short break we have had in ages. We arrived about lunch time, the road in is quite narrow but is wide enough really, plenty of pull in places along the way. Pulled up, the owner came out showed us around and left us to choose our pitch. The toilet facilities were immaculate and ultra modern. The site itself is beautiful, big willow trees, a lovely pond and ducks roaming around. Its set deep in the suffolk countryside, close to Snape Maltings, Orford and Woodbridge. The owners were very friendly and helpful but at the same time left you to your devices. he pitches were very spacious and fairly private and it felt like we were sharing their garden. It was an absolute pleasure to be there. The eggs were cheap and fresh from their own chickens. Many thanks to them, we will most definitely be back.

Excellent CL

This is one of the best CLs we have stayed on in over 25 years of caravanning. It is level, very well cared for, has a pond with ducks and also hens nearby. It is set in very attractive countryside and is very easy to visit areas north and south of the CL. Mr & Mrs Ridsdale are very helpful and friendly. we certainly hope to visit there again in the near future. This is a really delightful site.

Simply lovely

We have visited this site on several occasions, often having to alter the dates in order to secure a space as it is just so popular, and quite justifiably. It is a beautifully kept site, there is a wet room and loo which is always spotless. The owners, Christine and Graham couldn't be more helpful, and I am at a loss to understand a comment made by amember that they were not. It is peaceful, reached by quite a narrow lane, but we have never ever experienced any problem as there are passing places, and everyone is very friendly. Lots to see and do in the area, and despite having been several times, we still haven't sen all this lovely area has to offer. Orford is a few minutes away, and has a wonderful bakery, brilliant village store/deli and a smokery where fish, gammon and cheese etc can be bought. Also Oysters can be bought from Pinneys who have a lovely small restaurant in the square. Fresh fish can be bought from the shed. A trip to Orford Ness is most interesting, and there is a small "cruise" boat on which it is possible to have a meal. Several excellent pubs and hotels there too. Snape Maltings is a few minutes in the other direction. Shopping - innumerable farm shops, a brilliant butcher in Peasenhall, plus Emmets which should not be missed! Waitrose and Tesco in Saxmundham. Also nearby, Aldeburgh, Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwick, Minsmere RSPB, Sutton Hoo, Woodbridge, Framlingham (and castle).

Lovely site!

We went here earlier in November and thought it was great! Owners are really lovely and helpful, site is very pretty and the chickens are friendly. Loads of places to visit, we cycled into Orford which is about 5 miles away and also visited St. Botolphs church which overlooks the river. Plenty of water taps spaced around and they have hoses for easy filling for motorhomes, electric is only 6 amp but we never found this a problem, the only thing we couldn't boil with other things on was our kettle but this was only because its a high wattage one but this was no problem as we just used our gas one. We will definitely be returning here in the summer!

A gem

We stayed for 2 nights while touring through Suffolk. The site is very peaceful and situated close to the beautiful Alde estuary. There are no shops/pubs within walking distance so you need to go prepared or go out. Shower and loo facilities are modern- 50p for a shower but ample hot water (and time!) is given. Nearby Orford is great for eateries- there are a few pubs (we ate at the Sailors which was really good) plus a couple of tea rooms and an excellent bakery. There is also a smokehouse selling cheese, garlic, sausages, fish etc and a very well stocked village store if you want supplies. Overall would highly recommend, and we would definitely return if in the area again
