One night stop off

Dreadful site. No-one to welcome us other than young child who was charming but not exactly professional. Did not appreciate chicken pooh surrounding the van as we were unable to avoid standing in it. We had to provide our own toilet roll at first but did mention this to the young boy who immediately replenished it. I do not feel this site meets the caravan club standards and should be reviewed immediately.

Avoid until July 2015!

Booked the night before but was not warned that there was a long diversion in operation around narrow lanes to reach site.  On arriving we were surrounded on the two lanes adjacent to the site by heavy plant working to upgrade the area to mains sewage  The heavy machines and men worked until 6.15pm and then started the next morning at 7.15am!  A generator ran all night powering the traffic lights!  Ten metres from the end van (across the lane) was where all the machinery was being stored and apparently this is where the new sewage works is to be sited!  It is very unfortunate for the owner but people should be warned of this major disturbance. It would have been better for the site to be temporarily closed and for the owner to claim compensation for loss of business.  Apparently the work is ongoing until July 2015! Nobody actually made contact with us at the site.  We saw 2 cars arrive but noone would answer the door so we just left our money the morning we left! It would have been nice to have had some loo paper provided rather than being greeted by 3 empty rolls!

Rural tranquillity.

A pleasant site far from the madding crowd. Beware the approach though, do not try to drive through the village as the road to the site is very narrow and impossible to negotiate whilst towing. The site itself is flat and easy to pitch on (and you will be aided by the resident hens, if required) The toilets are a bit primitive but this is reflected in the price I suppose. There is plenty to do and see in the vicinity and a visit to Keswick is a must. Overall a very pleasant area and worth a return visit.

Top class CL

Very nice site, peaceful with lovely views of the lakeland fells. Situated close to the M6. We found this site as a one night stopover when travelling to Scotland, but liked it so much we have returned for our holidays 8 times since. I think this says it all. The owners are very helpful and pleasant, Hens on site means plenty of lovely fresh eggs.
