Easter break

Very good CL close to Whitby. Local pub has good grub and quizs. Suggest use park & ride rather than bus from village as cheaper and more frequent buses

Great Location

Stayed during wet May Bank holiday weekend and had a great time despite the heavy rain. If coming from the A171 from Guisborough DON'T take first turn off for Aislaby. Take the second one as it provides a much easier approach onto site,  as the entrance is on a bend. We were pitched in the enclosed field on pitch 6 and found it easier to drive into main area and use the picnic tables as a roundabout to get a better angle for entering field! The site is very well maintained and the owner is friendly and helpful. Well placed for visits to Whitby and Sandsend and nearby Sleights has chip shop, spa and cashpoint. We couldn't obtain a TV signal but this may have been just our pitch? Overall I would recommend this site and return to it again.

Excellent CL Site

Just returned from this CL site with my wife and 3 young children in our Caravan  and my parents in theirs, the site is very well maintained, quiet and perfect for a relaxing few days, it is close to the new park and ride into Whitby which we used to get Into Whitby,  the views over Whitby and the Abbey are amazing, we would definitely stay here again and recommend this site  to our friends.

Excellent in every way ,bar one

We found this beautifully situated CL easily and allocation to a pitch indicated on a clear noticeboard.Very nice area with plenty of local walks which are well signposted. The only concern was an issue with my dog who was spooked by the bird scarers booming  every so often in the neighbouring fields. Didn't go to the local pub The Forge, but my wife was encouraged by members of the local church to visit there when she attended   the Easter Sunday service! Will be visiting again.

Brilliant quiet site

We stayed in October and had a brilliant four days.  weather wasn't great, lightening one night.  We can recommend the Forge for a meal, just around the corner, it was one of the best we've had for a long time.

Nice site

I was told that it was a quiet site after saying that i wanted peace and quiet, how wrong they were. The traffic was constant as the site is next to a busy road and we were placed on the first pitch through the main gate ,If i had my way i would never have chosen this pitch. Also i do think that you need to review the waste water emptying point and the chemical point, not everyone can bend down that easily.

Beautifully located, and great views

After 25 years mainly using club sites, we decided to try cl's. and what a gem!! We landed on our feet with this site, as it confirms everything that a cl can, and does offer. With distant views of Whitby Abbey and the sea, the site provides all the necessary facilities (as reported by others) for a great break. The bus service, hourly before Whit., and half hourly thereafter is good, but is frequently runs upto 30 minutes late on the return journey! There is a new park and ride a couple of miles down the road into Whitby, which is served by a very regular bus service. OAP half price fare applies here.

Lovely CL in fab location.

Have stayed for 2 nights this wkend on this CL, no hassles, no stress. Fantastic scenery from this lovely village, local pub does fantastic food and real ale. Gets very busy so do book. The CL is popular with people booking in advance and was easy to find, a chalk board tells you which pitch you've been placed on. Grass cut, lots of space and conifers and brick wall to ease the wind. A couple of picnic benches to use, rubbish bins and waste emptying to the side of the entrance. The buses run every 30 mins so we took a full day in Whitby to see the Regatta events and visit the Abbey which took all day. Fantastic place, will definitely return.

Excellent C.L.

This CL is excellent. Well kept and organised.Only 2 miles from Whitby and very near N.Y.M.R steam train station. A bus service that runs almost from site entrance every 30 mins to Whitby, Scarborough, and Robin Hoods Bay. The village pub has re-opened. This is only a 3 minute walk. Meals are excellent.
