Another fabulous stay

Our second visit to this lovely peaceful Cl located in a prime location behind Tissington village. This is a well kept Cl with beautiful views and we were lucky enough to have the pitch overlooking the cow field, it was great to watch the two calves frolicking about and the hares run across the field in the morning. As previously stated, there's easy access onto the Tissington Trail for walking and cycling, we walked to Ashbourne which is 3.5 miles and got the bus back, the bus also goes to Buxton via Hartington and Longnor. Unfortunately, we were sad to see the butchers have closed, the nearest supermarkets are in Ashbourne where there's Aldi, Sainsbury, Co-op and Marks and Spencer Simply food. Look forward to visiting again in the future.

Wow!

Perfect! Intimate site, walking galore, peaceful and natural . Absolutely beautiful views in a proper countryside setting. Parwich pub is amazing, food so plentiful and hot plates. Watched the cows and calves( just been born) from our pitch. Hares visited in the evening. Owners very accommodating. We will definitely return here ticked every box

Excellent

We have just spent three very peaceful nights at this lovely site . It is very close to an array of activities such as walking cycling relaxing and shopping if that’s your thing . The village with its Hall in the centre is magnificent and it feels like you’ve gone back in time . At first it looks like there isn’t much in the village but after getting your bearings there is abundance of things to look at and do. Thank you to the site owners and hope they continue to keep it open . The views from the site are fantastic and extensive . What it lacks in amenities it makes up for in location .

Peaceful, friendly and lovely location.

Spent 10 nights on this beautiful Cl, friendly welcome and lovely large hard standing pitches. Beautifully situated above Tissington village with fantastic walks from site, only a short distance from the Tissington Trail so excellent for cycling. A short walk down the lane, there's a butchers and in the village a wonderful cafe. There is a bus stop in the village although we had our own transport. Ed and Kathryn were staying in their caravan on site for a few days and were very friendly always greeting with a smile. During our stay, we went to Dovedale, Ilam, Cromford, Bakewell, Carsington Water and Hartington where there are wonderful walks within easy reach. Looking forward to staying again next year.

Lovely peaceful CL

We have just stayed for a long weekend at this CL. Absolutely perfect. Beautiful surroundings, very peaceful, good size pitches. Owner friendly and helpful, telling us that if we needed anything just get in touch. Will definitely return

GOOD SITE, PITY ABOUT THE OWNERS IGNORING US DURING OUR STAY.

We stayed 7 nights This is a well laid out CL with 5 hard standings, one chemical disposal point and 2 water taps ( that were extremely slow 22 min to fill an aqua roll !), BUT the owners did not welcombe or speak to us at all during our stay, (although they regularly chatted at length to their other quests).

A Magical Spot

What a magical spot! It was exactly what we wanted as a peaceful one-night stopover on our way to Scotland in our new motor home. The surrounding area was beautiful, and we especially enjoyed walking around the village looking at the wells, which we had read about in the little Methodist Church near the site. We would love to return to see the annual Well Dressing ceremony! I would really recommend this campsite for the tranquillity, the friendliness of the owners, and the stunning views. Sally and Simon

Excellent site!

We have just returned home after 5 nights at Tissington. What a joy! I can only really echo what others have already written. The site is very quiet and peaceful, being located just above the village, and is perfectly located on a hillside with views across the surrounding countryside. It is, however, one of those sites where you can turn off the engine, set up the van, and then soak up the silence. 'And breathe...' It is a few minutes walk from the Tissington Trail, but also within easy reach of Ashbourne and all the attractions that the Peak District has to offer. There is lots of local information by the gate. The hard-standing pitches are very wide and ours easily accommodated the car, caravan and awning, with room to spare. Booking with Ed and Kate was simple and the pitch was marked with our name, so we had no problems finding our space. Our son lives in Ashbourne, so we will look forward to returning to Tissington very soon. Thank you, Ed, for making us feel so welcome.

Fantastic site!

We've just returned from a 4 night stay at this lovely site. Easy to find and our huge hardstanding pitch was clearly marked for us so despite arriving just as it was turning dark we were able to get in and get set up with no fuss. The views from the site are classically Peak District, big skies, rolling fields, stone walls, and stone buildings. Tissington is a beautiful village although at this time of year there wasn't anything open other than the great local butchers just along the lane. Didn't use the van at all during our stay, there are stunning walks from the site in every direction - the Tissington Trail gives an easy 4 miles down to Ashbourne, on another day we went further afield (lots of fields!) across to Ilam, Milldale, and Dovedale. If we had stayed longer we probably would have made use of the bus service to investigate the nearest towns but we were enjoying the walking so much we didn't bother. Would definitely recommend this site and hope to be back again one day.
