The enterance to the site needs to be from the up hill. Take your time and its quite easy to get into. You have to drive past the mobile homes to reach the field. We started to pitch up on a slope but it was too much so moved a little to a flatter pitch.
Lovely views out to sea. there is a bit of road noise with the occasional loud vehicle hurrying by. a very warm welcom was recieved. We had our own water and waste which was a real bonus. The facilities are ok. Pay on arrival and its CASH only. Local chippy is fantastic. Easy access to local points of interest. Definately worth a trip down to the local sea side Skinningrove). Lovely beach after the jetty. Supermarkets available in Loftus
June holiday 2023
Fantastic little site, pitches slightly sloping, access a little tight if you have a large unit (like ourselves)
Toilets and showers kept clean. Owners very friendly,
View from the site is to die for. Access to the North Yorkshire moors is very easy.
There is a dog friendly beach at skinningrove, free car park, a bit of a trek till the jetty, once past there I a great beach and bay. Will not hesitate to come back to this site if in the area.
Beautiful little site
Just returned from 11 nights at this lovely site. The location is great with Saltburn on Sea and Whitby just a few miles away. There is only one shower and 2 toilets but they are kept spotlessly clean. The manager of the site was lovely and really helpful. She recommended places to eat and to visit. The view from our pitch was great across fields and we could see the sea in the distance. We will definitely be back.
A very tidy CL.
Once through the gateway, not a problem for me but long caravans need to take care, this is an excellent CL. Its well planned, plenty of space between serviced pitches and levelling is easy. Far views over fields, distant sea view, all very pleasant. The dry waste and cep points are enclosed and tidy. £17.00 per night, good value. Keep to the maximum 5 units Mr Souter, we don't want to lose a good CL like yours.
Super Break
This site is situated in a lovely location just outside of Loftus in the village of Liverton, North Yorkshire. Its elevated position give fabulous views of the surrounding area and also gives great views of the sunset if the weather is good. Of course the British weather is unpredictable so on some days you may well not see any view at all. The elevated position also means there is a good chance that it can be quite windy at times.
The site is well tended and offers almost level pitching for the majority of the site. The site is all grass with a densely packed gravel track that leads to each pitch this offers superb access to the individual and generous pitches. Each pitch has its own drinking water tap and a shared grey water disposal sits between two pitches of which there are six on site giving a generous three grey water disposal points and six drinking water taps. One pitch even has a Picnic table sited for the convenience of the unit sited on the pitch.
Toilet facilities are reasonable, there are two WC's and a single shower. On the whole the toilet block is well kept and this is also where you find the information point giving you lots of ideas of places to visit, even though some are a fair distance from the site. There are some locally printed maps of walks that can be done from close by along with take away menus from the local Chinese and Pizza place. There are even a few DVD's on the rack, if children films are what your would like to watch. The Toilet block is made up from a portacabin and has been painted green to allow it to blend into the site. It has an attractive deck outside that enhances its appearance.
Although this is a CL and quite well appointed for such it must be noted that it isn't a hideaway site and is close to a collection of dwellings. There are also three Log Cabins in the adjacent field between the dwellings and the CL that are used as holiday lets. They are well kept as is the rest of the site and we didn't feel that we were overlooked at all.
We arrived and sited our Caravan with ease and enjoyed our whole stay here without any need to ask for assistance everything worked as it should and the site remained peaceful for our entire visit.
A point to note though is that the description of the CL on the Caravan & Motorhome Site makes note of WIFI being available, I didn't see any mention of this while on site and couldn't find a free access WIFI point when I searched. So if you intend to use WIFI check this out before you book a pitch.
The evenings on site were quiet and it was nice hearing the Owl calls through the night, you really know your in the country side when you hear such things. There are also free range Hens and a Cockerel in a nearby field that will give you an early morning call, so if this bothers you you had better think before you book. Personally it just added to the whole ambience of this lovely site.

Beware the wind
Stayed here for just one night, had hoped to use it to visit Saltburn and Staithes but quickly realised that as we only have bicycles, the hills and distance were perhaps a little too much for us. The site is very high up, and as others have mentioned, even a slight breeze has quite an impact on awnings and the 'rocking' of the caravan/motohome! We did walk down into Loftus to find a supermarket for provisions, sadly its a very run down little town. The site itself however, is beautifully maintained, a nice shower and toilet block at the top end of the site, drinking water and electric hook up all beside your pitch. I would have no hesitation in returning to this site if we were in a caravan but for us being in a motorhome we need to have things a little closer to hand.
Perfect CL
We stayed for 5 nights on the brilliant farm CL site. Entrance through the gates is a little tight if you have a large van, but then access the the rest of the site is very easy. There are a couple of lights, so even if you arrive late, you'll easily see where to set up.
The site has some sloping, but most pitches are pretty level and well marked out. Water, and electric are close by each pitch, and waste site is also easy to get to.
There are lovely countryside views with absolutely stunning sunsets.
There are 2 toilets and a free hot shower with enough (dry) room to change.
Electric hook up is 16amp.
There's an ASDA superstore 5 miles away if you need it.
We visited Saltburn, Staithes, Whitby, Guisborough, and Redcar, amongst others, and had a walk up Roseberry Topping for amazing 360 degree views.
If you come over here in June, you'll see the sun set (on the EAST coast, with great views from the pier at Saltburn or from the top of the steps up to Whitby Abbey).
All in all, an excellent experience and we would highly recommend staying here.

First visit
This is a really nice little site good view all round stayed for 4 nights in April. Picked a really good week very hot weather. Steve the owner is very helpful telling me where I could walk the dog, toilets and shower are kept nice and clean. Be warned thought all though it was nice weather there was a strong wind, the site is on top of the Moors. I will be returning maybe later this year.
