We stayed for three nights in beginning of October 2017 to visit friends in nearby village of Loftus. Site facilities OK, newish and fresh. Signage could be improved. Access from Liverton Mines is tight through the gateway for larger vehicles. The site was still going through teething problems We explored surrounding countryside with easy access to moors or coast and the Steam Railway.
Only downside to our stay, the site is on the side off a hill and although all the pitches are level, there was little wind break / protection as there was always a breeze. Locals told us it was usually windy. One night we had a storm pass by with serious gusting winds which really rocked the caravan. We would have lost our awning had it been up.
Overall though, the site was ideal for what we required and we will definitely be back.
While the site and area are excellent just check the weather for wind .
Stay at the waterwheel
From the beginning to the end of our stay everything was very well organized , Steve the owner is an asset to the caravan club nothing was a problem, will definitely stay again
