Being new to owning a caravan and towing (though not to campervanning), we chose this site for our first time away because a) it was close to home just in case we'd forgotten something and b) we knew the roads to and from the site would provide good experience from a towing point of view. Well thankfully we didn't forget anything essential, and while the roads might only be of concern to a newbie caravan-tower like I was, they didn't cause any concern either - even the turning into the site didn't cause any problems - so it was a good choice in that respect. As our first stay there was in December 2017, the field would have been too wet and soft for us so we used the hardstanding next to the washroom. The site itself was perfect for us, proving to be reasonably sheltered from the wind blowing across the marsh and beautifully quiet - with only the occasional car or cycle riders passing. The owners are good, friendly people and not intrusive at all, the washroom is more than adequate (including a washing machine and tumble dryer) and has always been clean during our stays. We like this site so much we've been there three times since - and hope to be visiting again very soon.
Perfect location for the Downs & more
We stayed mid March for two weeks. Great owners very helpful and Knowledgable of the area. Laundry and Toilets were brilliant. Location perfect if you wanted an overnighter before catching a ferry to the continent. Great walks in the area on the Downs. Wildlife all over the Marshes. We enjoyed our stay.

Brilliant Site - one of the best
We stayed here for 1 night over the bank holiday. The site is level and nice trimmed grass. New hut with toilet and washing facilities.
As stated in other posts great views over the local countryside. Easy access though we missed the turning in Hythe so ended up approaching from the opposite direction from Dymchurch.
We could not get in on the EHU side due to the pitching of other units but were happy to be on the other side with no EHU to get the space and evening sun.
The owners came out in the evening to collect the money and said you can park on the HS near the toilet if you wanted to.
Will definitely return when next in the area.
Our Favourite Site
You can be assured of a warm welcome at The Spinney from owners Roger and Sue. On arrival you get a choice of available grass pitches or a single hard standing pitch near the entrance, all with fantastic views across farmland towards the sea and adjacent higher ground. The site comprises of a large , flat , well maintained grass field and benefits from the recent addition of a toilet and laundry facility including a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Cyclists will love the easy access to the flat roads of the marsh and anglers will not have to travel far because the site is only a few yards from the Royal Military Canal.
We come here several times a year as we are fairly local - it's our favourite site!

Booked three nights wished I stayed longer
i booked this at short notice for three nights. It's location is idyllic It's size gives you a feeling of space and its owners are two very nice and welcoming people you could wish to meet.
The facilities are very good and clean ( not sure what a previous post was all about ).
Pitches are nicely appointed and you are given altomitty to set up where you like. The view across the fields are suburb. Hardly ever heard traffic noise or dogs from the nearby property.
The only thing that I found a bit of a task was the entrance being a little tight for my outfit, but that is more due to my lack of expirence. So if I can do it - anybody can!
Would I recommend this CL... Yes!
Would I return to this CL ... Definitely !
well worth a visit
there is some traffic noise but not overwhelming and occasional barking from kennels down the road but overall a very nice cl with lovely views and a very warm and friendly welcome will come again when in the area
Overnight stay on the way to the tunnel
Roomy pitches and pleasant peaceful surroundings. marred in the morning (7.30 am!)by digger being loaded onto a lorry on the site.
The loo is VERY basic. As it is advertised as having a toilet in the Caravan Club Guide, we were a little bemused to have to ask where the toilet was and on asking we were told, " We don't really advertise it as most people use their own facilities." Notice inside the fairly grimey little portaloo style cabin asking you to leave it as you would like to find it. Given the state of the place it seemed to be asking me to give it a good clean!! Ok as a functional overnight stay, we'll look elsewhere in future.
Very pleasant...
Well kept good sized field with easy access. Ground conditions were good even after rain - some hard standing available. Plenty of space to spread out, grass well mown. Lovely views from the site. Road is mainly screened by trees and not that busy. Owner met on arrival pointed out facilities etc. and has produced a local information leaflet. Will definitely return to this very nice little site.
