One of the best

Of all the CLs that we have visited over many years, The Paddocks is certainly one of the best of the CLs that don't have a shower or toilet. Access to the CL is very easy. The pitches are of a very generous size, separated by trellis fences. The site has a very slight slope resulting in a VERY slight sideways slope on the pitches. Otherwise they are completely flat. The pitches are of grass which is kept extremely short and the whole site is very neat and tidy. Water, electricity and a drain are available on each pitch. The CL is very quiet apart from the occasional vehicle on the adjacent roads which are a couple of hundred metres away and, of course, some bird song. During our stay we were lucky enough to see the resident barn owl a few times almost every day. This is certainly a CL that we can recommend and one that we would return to without hesitation.

A very enjoyable stay

We have just returned from a long stay in Norfolk and Suffolk and this was one of the sites we used , to be fair they were all of a very good standard. We had never visited this area before and was unsure of the correct location to pitch, When looking at the map you could think this would be a noisy site being situated by the edge of A146 and A143 It turned out that this one is ideally situated almost no noise from any direction All the shops for provisions within 2 miles. and easy access to the beaches and the broads. The site is very clean and well laid out, with good areas to walk the dog We will certainly go back .

Lovely CL

A well kept tidy CL. A nice welcome from the owner, lovely view over the paddock. A nice dog walk part in a small wood. Good size pitches with water and electric hook up.

Excellent CL

Just how we like a CL, adult only, large allocated pitches with division fencing between each pitch, fresh water, waste water and electric on the pitch. Overlooking a meadow and we were entertained by the owl most evenings. We don’t have a dog but those with dogs could exercise them in the fenced off meadow opposite or woodland behind the caravans adjacent to the owner’s parents small well looked after adult only CL. That site looked very clean and tidy too. The owner greeted us on arrival with an information pack and then left us to it with the invitation to call at the house if we needed anything. Locally we did some walks from the site, the market town of Beccles is a short drive away with a Morrisons, Tesco and Lidl. The beaches of Lowestoft along the coast to Southwold not too far away a drive to. We’d definitely go here again.

Fantastic Site

Just returned from a four-night stay at The Paddocks. What a fantastic site, as previous reviews talked about. Very large site with fully serviced pitches and an abundance of wildlife. Every night a young rabbit came and sat just outside our caravan and we spent most of the evening watching it. East Anglia Transport Museum is only a few miles away and well worth a visit. Great Site will return 5 stars. Well Done

Lovely Site

Stayed for 4 nights in July, wish we had stayed longer! This site is just how a CL should be set up, from the generous welcome with information about the local area to the large sized pitches, all with their own water tap and drain and at £18.00 a night quite reasonable in my view. Good access to the southern Broads, we went to the Reedham ferry Inn for lunch which was nice, Southwold (on recommendation of Barbara the owner) was also very nice, and Beccles has all you need in terms of facilities. If we are in the area again we will defiantly return to this site.

Will happily return to this gem

This is one of those excellent CLs that people return to often and it’s not hard to see why. The site is immaculate with close cut grass and big pitches with all facilities on pitch. We were given a warm welcome and a pack of useful local information by Barbara and indeed visited Carlton Marshes one day as a result. It’s ideally located for Southwold and Beccles. Supermarkets and other places of interest are easy to find and the site so peaceful you could happily while away a week or two without going anywhere. Thoroughly recommend this CL and hope to return next year.

JUST RETURNED FROM FIVE WONDERFUL DAYS AT THIS SITE.

Not sure what else I can say about this CL that has not already been said, so apologies if things are repeated! This was our first visit to a CL site, and what a way to venture into the world of the CL sites, if this is the benchmark that others should follow, then they will have to work very hard to come close. The easy access site is just perfect, gentle sloping very tidy grass, a small wood behind, a hay field to the front with a South West aspect, so sunsets and virtually all day sun, rabbits and plenty of birdlife, and peace and quiet. Each really huge pitch is separated by a low trellis fence, with illuminated electric, fresh water and grey waste points. Pleasant walks from the site, so dog owners and gentle exercise are catered for. Perfect location to the Suffolk/Norfolk countryside to explore by car or cycle, so should suit everyone. Then we come to the owners, an absolutely delightful, friendly and helpful couple who have made sure your stay will be all you hoped for, and know you will go away happy. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back. Tony Simmonds

Fantastic!

Stayed for a couple of nights early 2022 and wished it could have been longer. The site is immaculately kept. Each pitch has its own fresh and grey water point along with unmetered EHU. It backs onto woodland and faces open fields. The owner couldn’t have been more welcoming, loaning us a pack of walks and cycle rides from the site. We took the Motorhome to Beccles and parked at the harbour car park (£3,50 all day). We hope to be back soon.
