Wales retreat

Just returned from this lovely CL.  Mr Williams very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The strip of level concrete to side of pitch very useful for levelling van. Driveway is uphill and appears narrow but isn't to bad just take care when passing between houses and all ok.  We had a very nice week even though the weather wasn't the kindest. We will recommend this site to you all and hopefully return again one day.

Beautiful site - will return

We were very impressed with the site. I would say it's the best CL we have stayed on so far. Facilities are very good. Well kept site. Scenery and views were truly amazing. Kids loved it. Walking distance to the beach. Will return  Thanks to the owners ??

Fantastic!

What a find!  I was really after something near the beach with sunsets and this site did more than I had hoped!  It is a tight entrance, but with care you can get through.  The driveway is a hill, so you are nicely elevated to see the sea and beach in full glory!  You can walk through the static site on the other side of the road, cross the railway line, and you are on the beach in less than 5 minutes!  The beach goes along the coast in both directions for miles and at low tide you can walk to Barmouth for a browse!  Lovely owners with a gorgeous dog.  Fantastic hill walks above the site and on the edge of Snowdonia for more adventurous walks! There are two sites, one CC and one CCC.  We were on the CCC one and the facilities were on the edge of our site.  Nicely done toilets and shower.  Water tap on the pitch.  All in all a lovely site and if we hadn't had plans, we would've stayed another week!

Peace and Quiet

This CL is the best that we have stayed on. Make a slow approach to the entrance of the site though or you may miss it.....we did! The approach from the Barmouth direction appears easier as it seems a tighter turn from the other direction. The owner John offered us a warm welcome and was very helpful during our stay. The view across the bay is fantastic and the sunsets are beautiful. If looking for peace and quiet with stunning views, this CL should not disappoint. We will be returning again next year.

Our parting words to Mr and Mrs Williams was we look forward to returning. Wonderful scenery, beautifully kept and our dog made a special friend in Nell.

Great Time In Wales

This CL has water points on 4 of the pitches but not on pitch 5. However pitch 5 has by far the best views over the bay. John the owner was very welcoming and friendly. The on site facilities are excellent with a great shower block should you require it. Access is a little tight but if taken with care no problems should occur. The local beaches are great for dog walking especially Harlech. The only thing to bear in mind are observing the dog restriction signs which are clear. There is a small dog walk on site which is first class.

what a view

we were on this site the last week of august 2015, the views are a real pleaser, sea view from all angles. the site is slightly sloping, when we arrived we had the unlucky problem of real heavy rain and the ground was a little soggy, however despite rain most nights it did dry up enough to avoid wellies. a short drive into Barmouth gave us a nice week. only one little niggle emptying the grey waste was a bit of a drag as its up a sharp incline, but each pitch had its own tap. nice area and well maintained. if you decide to walk down to the beach through the large static site on the other side of the main road if your old codgers like us its like a mountain,. take care of the site driveway if you have a long van, its steep and got a few bends to contend with,. all in all we enjoyed our stay, so did our four year old granddaughter she wants to go again.

Tremendous Trem Enlli

Having just spent two weeks at this CL I cannot recommend it highly enough. This is the first time we have been back to this part of Wales for 11 years having spent nearly 20 years living in Gwynedd. The site occupies an elevated plot overlooking Barmouth Bay and has stupendous views across the bay to the LLeyn Peninsula and Bardsey Island, not to mention the stunning sunsets across the bay - cameras at the ready. Most pitches have an EHU and fresh water tap to the rear, and there is well spaced grey water and chemical toilet disposal points as well as a dedicated motor home service point situated at the entrance to the site. Mr Williams, who is really friendly and very approachable, keeps the site immaculately trimmed, and it is a credit to him. There are also modern toilet and shower facilities, the latter taking 20p coins, which are amongst the best I’ve seen. There is a safe beach literally across the road, through the static caravan site opposite, where there is also a small shop, for those forgotten items, and a Fish & Chip shop - although I would heartily recommend The Mermaid Fish & Chip Shop on Beach Road in Barmouth for absolute quality but, believe me, be prepared to queue - it’s that popular. Barmouth has its own Blue Flag safe bathing beach; I would recommend the far end nearer Llanaber where the Promenade Cafe has take-away tea, coffee, ice creams etc; available. For those odd cloudy days there is plenty to occupy the most demanding and inquisitive of minds including Royal St David’s Golf course and Castle in Harlech, Llechwedd Slate Cavern and Zip Lines at Bleanau Ffestiniog, Ffestiniog/Welsh Highland Railway in Portmadog, Portmeirion Italianate Village in Minffordd whilst for those who have a love of walking and the great outdoors I would recommend the Coed-y-Brenin Forest Park and the Rhaeddr Ddu Waterfall at Ganllwyd. Then there’s – I think you get the point ... there’s plenty to occupy the most requiring of interllects. This is a real gem of a site but, don’t tell everyone – they’ll all want to come!

A nomination for CL of the year

Recently spent two glorious weeks here. Superb new toilet/shower block, beautiful views over the sea and beach (5 minutes walk), level hard-standings set in manicured grass, individual water-tap for connection to caravan, spacious pitches, good television reception and most helpful and accomodating owners. We will definately be back.

Great breakaway

Just had a lovely week here.  The site is clean and John was very pleasant on arrival, telling us about the facilities etc.  The caravan site is situated up a slight hill bu this gives fantastic views.   We will be back!!
