Excellent

Just returned from The Mallards after spending a lovely week there. Excellent site, lovely views, quiet well kept large plots and welcoming. Enjoyed watching the cows move from field to field and the 3 Guinea Fowl who roam the site Welcoming village pub quite a walk but worth it. Will return.

Perfect Location

Virtually a last minute booking and will definitely be returning again. Can only re-iterate others comments, site and facilities kept immaculate, away from hustle and bustle, not far from M5. Excellent pub serving good food in village - walkable. Last but not least, ideal for dog walkers.

Great site, will return!

We reviewed the previous comments before visiting this location and now having stayed, we agree wholeheartedly. Being local, we were after, a quick one night getaway and were very pleased. Warm welcome, tranquil site, clean facilities and immersion amongst farm life. Will certainly visit again!

What more could you want from a CL

We've stayed three times over the last couple of months. It's a perfect place to chill out and great as a base for checking out the area. Adrian keeps the site in tip-top condition. The pitches are large and the toilets and shower kept extremely clean and tidy. The guinea fowl and chickens are a constant source of amusement. Diggers Rest pub offers great food (10-15 mins walk) Already booked to go again in October and have dates to book in for next year. A great find!!

May Stay

We decided to use The Mallards as we had booked for a rally at nearby Crealy and wanted to extend our break to a week. This was a good find! Decent sized pitches and a nice greeting from the owner on arrival. Okay to find along narrow 'Devon country lanes', although I always use Google Street View before going to sites for the first time, and this made it extra easy. Site facilities are basic, but clean, with everything needed close by to make for a hassle-free stay. I was the spider catcher for our stay before my wife and daughter used the showers :-) The Mallards is a great base for Exeter and South Devon and there is a very convenient caravan dealer a short distance from the site. We loved our time here and would return with no hesitation.

A Relaxing Week

Thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing week at the Mallards. The site is easily accessed, flat and well kept. Ade (the owner) was welcoming and friendly. There are male and female toilets and a shower on site. Electric hook up and waste facilities all on hand. Nice views from all the pitches. It was a bit noisy on a couple of nights, they were cutting and bailing hay. But hey, this is a working farm - what do you expect? Easy access from the site to Exeter and Exmouth. Good pub in the village, which is about a 15 minute walk away. We intend to use this site again.

12 Memorable Days

An informative and extremely warm welcome by Adam who checked with us regularly to ensure things were OK.What more could you ask from someone who worked hard to make sure the site was kept clean, tidy and maintained to a high standard. The space between vans was more than generous.Particularly enjoyed the presence of the cows in the adjacent field on occasions, the views, the  peace and quiet and fresh eggs available every day. Centrally based, this is an ideal site for exploring the area.Would and will definitely visit again.

What a find!!

We did our research before booking as we were staying for 10 days and wanted a CL in a good location for walking cycling and complete relaxation - glad to say we got it absolutely right. The views are perfect, large pitches and the site is peaceful. This is a working dairy farm and there was some farm traffic on the lane to the site as they were cutting the hay in their fields. Did not bother us in the slightest. Mid way through our stay, we woke up(very late!!) to the sound of mooing and the cows were in the field in front of the CL area - it was lovely to see them as they wandered between the fields at different times. Plenty to see and do. Several NT properties within easy reach and you can get onto the Exe Trail for cycling or walking at Topsham (Adrian or his Dad will direct you) We did this on bikes over 2 days - down to Exmouth one day and up to Exeter the other. Visited La Ronde (NT) and Cannonteign Falls (use your CC Great Days Out voucher - two for one) - the walk is lovely. Toilets very clean. The eggs are fantastic - such yellow yolks - nothing like buying them and cooking the same morning when they have been laid the day before. We did not go but site is great for Crealy if you have youngsters. We were lucky to be there for the Devon show which is just down the lane to the main road. Worth a visit - huge show. Recommend this lovely CL (and its lovely owner even when he sided with my husband when he said he needed a new car!!) and will return. Wish we were nearer - bit far from Essex for a cheeky weekend break!!

Beautiful Views

We found this site OK by following the book. A level site with beautiful views. Owner met us and showed us our pitch. All facilities fine, separate ladies & gents with wash hand basin, soap & paper towels. The shower needs 20p, it is very clean. A few books and leaflets available. Only gripe - the drinking water tap is rather slow! We would certainly stay here again. We walked down to the pub for a drink, about 15 mins. Friendly staff, you could eat there as well.
