Relaxing long weekend

This is a lovely peaceful site with the added bonus of a restaurant. On our arrival we sampled the coffee and cake then on Saturday morning we met some family members for a delicious breakfast. The restaurant is beautifully clean, bright and the welcome we received was warm. There is plenty of walking with a variety of routes but as they are not particularly well maintained/signposted an OS map or better still a GPS system is needed. The roads are not too busy so any roadwork is quite safe, unusual even in the countryside these days! For those who are less able to walk then there are some lovely grounds to explore with some super apparatus to use if one has young children, plenty of opportunity to burn off surplus energy and work up an appetite. We would definitely visit again.

EXCELLENT SITE just got BETTER!

Have been visiting this CL for a number of years over the May Day Bank Holiday Weekend and it is always a very pleasant and relaxing visit. Very easy access to site and on to pitches (all hard standing). Pitches overlook large open grassland / park area. This year the park had brand new children's adventure play equipment - climbing frames, swings, zip wire. Also several adult keep fit machines (outdoors) were available. The cafe was, once again, very good and the staff very friendly and welcome. Perfect site for young / old to relax and enjoy the countryside. We had a very pleasant day in nearby Stamford walking in the grounds of Burghley House and then around the town with its lovely old buildings. Second day super walk in the countryside around Exton / Greetham. Both days very enjoyable. Before leaving we visited the nearby Hambleton Bakery (artisan) to stock up on their delicious bread and cakes. A great weekend break. We WILL be back.

Great CL

Having stayed a number of times, we knew the pitch we wanted. The online booking is excellent and great communication prior to arrival. Close to Oakham and Stamford. Lots of dog walks on and around the site and the local pub does fine food and real ale. Happy days!

SUPER SITE

Arrived on a Sunday afternoon, we were the only caravan on site for a couple of days. Five hard standing pitches so can point the caravan towards the sun. ( British weather permitting ). Not a lot of space for hitching etc, but easy enough with a little thought. On the edge of a little park so preety good views. Nice little cafe on site. Lovely villages in area and Oakham only a few miles away. Definately be coming back to this lovely site.

Perfect

A very nicely located and run CL with the added bonus of having a 1st class cafe onsite. A small, but beatifully kept site with a laundry too. The only snag for us was the disposal point was not reachable for our RV with a 15' hose. We will definately stay again.

nice place

This was a very pleasant site. For £14.50 we generally get a toilet block with a shower. Cafe not open on Sunday which was a shame. 10 min walk to shop and pub at end of village, which was very friendly with good food. The site was very peaceful with plenty to see in the area.

Fantastic dog walk large field with a small country walk abit muddy at moment but thats expected in December hope to visit in better weather then can make use of seats available all round field. The site is all hard standing so no mud there. The cafe is very reasonably priced meals excellent staff very friendly so enjoyed our New Year break. Hope to visit again soon.

Excellent site in a very rural setting

Visited end of May 2015 for the first time. Loved the peace and tranquility of this site and the beautiful surroundings. The staff in the cafe were very friendly and helpful. The pitches are large and well spaced out and if available you are able to choose your pitch number in advance. Lovely site and would visit again.
