Peaceful friendly site

Had a lovely long weekend. Weather was gorgeous and the views were lovely. Nice level site with hard standing and amenities very close. Always something to watch with the ponies and chickens and the cows coming down the hill for milking. Have already booked another visit.

Lovely stay

Wonderful CL with nice spacious pitches and a very friendly owner who was more than happy to issue instructions when we foolishly tried to follow our sat nav in rather than a map!  Infracombe is great for a day out and appledore has two lovely fish and chip shops as well as being a fantastic location for a spot of crabbing. Well worth a visit.

Lovely CL

A very pleasant CL on a working farm. Hardstanding level pitches made pitching easy with good spacing between pitches. Large caravans might find the access a little challenging especially the sharp bend followed immediately by the old railway bridge soon after you leave the A386. Access to the CL itself was no problem. Others have mentioned the septic tank emptying but I didn't think it was too bad...about 50 yards (?) although you did have to go down a steep grass bank and yes the manhole cover was of solid construction but Ok...I've come across a lot worse!! There is a small 'overflow' site alongside the 5 van CL separated by a wire fence. I would certainly visit again.

Super Site

7/14 Just spent 17 nights at this lovely site. Ross & Nicky were lovely hosts and looked after us well. Site well maintained, grass cut weekly, cuttings removed. Septic not very convenient and could do with a lighter "man-hole" cover. Lovely village with superb pub (Cyder Presse). Very happy to recommend.

'Just the Job'

This CL was great for us in every way. Clean and tidy with very friendly and amenable hosts. Plenty of space too. It is not far from home for us (Cornwall) which is a bonus for a short break. We loved Bideford and Rosemoor Gardens. We plan to return as there is lots more to explore. Thankyou Ross and Nicky for your hospitality.

Far From the Madding Crowd!

Just got back from a two night stay at 'The Barton'. Loved it! Ross, the owner, is welcoming and helpful and will even book a table for you at the local pub! The site is peaceful and beautiful. The Cider Presse pub along the road is excellent! Real ale and lovely food! In the other direction is the Tarka Trail towards Bideford, Instow and beyond! Breathtaking! Loved it all. We will be back!

Down on the farm

We have just spent 3 lovely days on the Heddens farm CL , a lovely site right next to church , it was very peaceful here , with just the odd moo of a cow or two as they made their way down the hill to be milked , we made use of the Tarka Trail ,with our bikes and cycled to Instow and back to do some shopping in Bideford , which was once the third largest port in England many years ago ! The CL is also on a bus route ,which stops right outside the  farm by the church. The village also has a good pub within walking distance , - the road is fairly quiet , but dark with no street lights - take a torch ! Nick B .

One to return to

What a great site. We arrived with our 3 dogs for a week and enjoyed every minute. No noise, no stress, great views and oh the hills!! My poor norfolk (read flat) legs were worn out after a couple of days. Special thanks to Ross for the VIP treatment for my 2 labradors.

Working farm

This is a nice location well maintained and in a good location. The only downside was the toilet emptying which was some distance from the site and not easy to access. Other than this great place
