The best CL site we have ever stayed on

I can only echo what so many others have already said- we booked for two nights based purely on previous reviews and we were not disappointed. Hazel and Gerald are wonderful hosts as well as being interesting people. They, rightly, take great pride in their very special site and they work really hard to maintain the highest of standards. The pitches are perfectly set out and all amenities are top quality. Thank you so much. Leighton and Mad

Gem of a site, a must visit

After a 6 hour drive, we followed the instructions to the letter and found the site with no mishaps! (A first for us!) We had a warm welcome with information of various places to visit. The site is immaculate very spacious pitches, hardstanding with fully serviced pitches. Toilet and shower room fully equipped and immaculate. The dog enjoyed a good safe run around a spacious safe dog field. Breathtaking views to the coast and a real relaxed feeling to the place. We visited lots of places that were recommended and weren't dissappointed. We could not have had beeter hosts, thank you for the warm welcome. A truely 5 star experience.

Outstanding

With an increased anticipation of what the site would be like after travelling 260miles and plan to stay for a week, we neednt have worried, the previous reviews are acurate! What an absolutely fabulous site, easy to see how they won CL of the year, Wales 2023. Due to our own mix up of how to get to the site,Gerald came to meet us and lead us in, to avoid getting on one of the many narrow roads nearby( check your email for details, dont follow satnav)- Thankyou sooo much! Easy site access, huge serviced pitches, amazing views, enormous- enclosed dog field, which Dolly and Jake loved. Exceptionally clean and modern shower room and toilet, with sufficient information available, along with some books and dvds. We received a very friendly welcome from both Gerald and Hazel....your caravanning knowledge, passion to please your guests and regular check- ins and suggested places to visit were very much appreciated...dont change! We've had a very busy week visiting so many beaches, castles, waterfalls, country parks and reservoirs.and enjoyed being back on this exceptionally quiet site in the evenings. We were fortunate to see a spectacular sunset one evening. Although it is far from home we hope to visit this gem of a site again, take care Gerald and Hazel, thankyou for your hospitality. Ange and Daron.

Loved this site

We had a lovely peaceful stay for the mayday bank holiday weekend. We received an email with excellent directions on how to find the site and when we arrived Hazel came out to meet us and tell us what witch we were on, where the facilities are and tell us a bit about the local area. The pitch was great and there is a picnic bench on every pitch so we didn't even need to get our chairs out, there is a tap on every pitch and they ask you if you have pipes to drain into the field behind which is also a huge secure dog walk area. The toilet and shower room was excellent and spotlessly clean. We spoke to Hazel and Gerald the following day while they were out tending to the site and they told us some nice pubs to visit for good food and also told us about a lovely garden centre to visit as well as another lovely walk to a water fall that we would not have found without them telling us. There is no light pollution on the site so great for star gazing. It was so quite and the views from the site are beautiful. We managed to keep our electric usage within the allowed amount so did not have to pay any extra. As you have to use green fluid for their septic tank Gerald also sells green fluid in small containers enough for one toilet cassette use and is only £1 in the honesty pot. Also fresh eggs for sale with an honesty box. We will definitely return to this immaculately kept, lovely, quiet CL. Well done to you both.

Another great welcome

Another great stay at this fabulous CL with hosts Hazel and Gerald. From the initial phone call, the alternative comprehensive directions from Gerald due to a local road closure and the warmth of the welcome on arrival, nothing is too much trouble for these fabulous hosts. The site is great with easy access, excellent facilities, wonderful views, all that you could wish for a peaceful stay. Both are only too happy to help out when help is needed and are happy to recommend places of interest or local eating places. You cant go wrong staying at Terfyn Mawr, superb, 5 star! Looking forward to our next visit.

Top Tier

This review is long overdue, and should have been written after our first visit to Terfyn Mawr. We have now stayed at this lovely CL 3 times, over the course of the summer, and on each occasion we have extended our stay. The site is immaculate and a great deal of thought (and effort) has gone into its planning. Gerald and Hazel are amazing hosts and cannot do enough for guests. The CL is genuinely dog friendly and has a large (huge) dog exercise field. The pitches are generous and each one has its own picnic bench. A tranquil site with beautiful views and an abundance of Red Kites to watch. The nearby lanes are quiet enough to enjoy walking and cycling. On the doorstep are Newcastle Emlyn, Caws Cenarth Cheese and many other places of interest. We can highly recommend the Nags Head in Abercych, and also the Moonlight Indian takeaway in Newcastle Emlyn - very good indeed. We have met lovely people on every visit, and our dog (Sydnie) has made several fun doggy friends! Hoping to return again before the end of the year.

Outstanding!

With the car suffering from low power due to a fault as we approached Carmarthen I called Gerald, the CL owner, to check if there were any steep hills on route. Gerald immediately offered to come and meet us to tow our caravan to his CL. Once on site he set about finding a local garage so we could get the car sorted out. A trip down to Newcastle Emlyn to a very helpful workshop who refitted the loose engine intercooler hose; car sorted! This was beyond our expectations and we can’t thank Gerald enough. Gerald and Hazel have the best CL we have ever stayed on. The whole site is meticulously maintained, there’s water and electric on each pitch and currently a choice of three hard standing and two grass pitches, all large in size. The views are fantastic, the facilities spotless and you could not wish for more friendly hosts. You are greeted with a very warm welcome, and made to feel more of a friend rather than just a visitor. This CL provides a great base for exploring this region of Wales. St. Davids with its wonderful cathedral is just an hours drive and the highlight of our week, The Blue Lagoon at Abereiddi and Traeth Llyfn are must for stunning scenery along the Wales Coast Path. We highly recommend Ty Te, a lovely tea room at Cenarth for good food and friendly staff. We will definitely be back, can’t wait!

5 Star site

Immaculate site, with far reaching, amazing views by day and if clear skies, star gazing at night. Spacious, level pitches, with own water, EHU (if required) and picnic table. Grass & hard standing. Spotless toilet & shower room, the cleanest we have seen. Our booking was last minute, which was no problem for owners Gerald & Hazel and due to traffic we didn’t arrive until later than expected, after 10pm. We kept them up to date on our location and they were so accommodating and came out to greet us and settle us in when we got there. Brilliant. It is peaceful, but also a good location to explore local areas and coastline. Totally recommend and would definitely return if in that area.

Excellent site with lovely views

Terfyn Mawr is an outstanding site with lovely westerly views that include spectacular sunsets. The site is meticulously maintained and the toilet and shower room is to a very high standard. Possibly the best hot shower we've had on a campsite! Gerald and Hazel were friendly and helpful without being intrusive; a difficult balance which they got absolutely right. They were genuinely concerned that guests enjoyed their stay and provided us with additional information about local places to visit and also recommendations for the best routes to/from the campsite. The site is on high ground so can be a little windy, but this was never a problem and we would happily return.

I ask for nothing more this site has everything. The hosts are exceptional, the views, the pitches all perfect and the dog exercise field was an absolute bonus. The site is so quiet, and the sunsets views beautiful. Definitely worth a visit, we stayed for two weeks had a wonderful relaxing holiday.
