A very remote site with gorgeous sea views from the whole field, but beware if the ground is wet or rain forecast. We needed tractor assistance to get us both in and out - although the farmer was more than willing to help.
I think better signage as you approach the farm would be helpful; there was no indication which way caravans should go and no answer at the farmhouse. I don't expect people to be available 24/7 so more signs would be great. Once you know where the site is, it seems obvious, but on arrival we had no idea whether we should be driving through the muddy potholed farm yard.
We may return in the summer but have learned that in future we need hard-standing in the spring.
Lovely quiet site in about as isolated a part of Purbeck as you could find. However, it's very handy for the Coast Path, mid-way between St Alban's Head & Kimmeridge Bay. Also, the site is right beneath Swale Head from where you get terrific views of Poole Harbour, Corfe Castle, the Coast itself and the neighbouring Enborne Estate. Approach lane is a bit rough for 100 yards or so - just take it easy. Nice new loo with WHB and a CWP at the back. £15 with electric; £10 without.
Yes the access is a 'bit bumpy' but it is a working farm and with care it is not a problem, just drive slow.
The views are wonderful - the sea and the hills. You do need levelers. It would be appreciated if the key to the toilet could be replaced - we won't have to sing!! Particular thanks to George for lending me a trolley jack to solve a problem where I had slid off the vehicle jack. Recommended
Lovely and quiet location, adjacent to farmhouse but not intrusive. There is a toilet, but this was locked during our stay, although owner said we could use the farmhouse outside loo. As mentioned the access lane is uneven, but no problem with a bit of care, well worth it considering the location and views down to Kimmeridge Bay. Footpath access to bay. Just up the lane from the club site, but has the advantage of being a CL.
The site is adjacent to a working farm in a very secluded part of the Isle of Purbeck.
The detailed approach to the farm is good but hilly. The farm is at the end of along road/lane on a private estate.
The first part is on tarmac with road humps.
The approach to the farm is on a long lane which is part tarmac and part unsurfaced. The surface is not conducive to driving a caravan on it and care must be taken on the latter part.
How-ever, the view from the site is magnificent and overlooks Kimmeridge Bay.
