Great cl close to Weymouth

We had just spent 4 days here over the may bank holiday weekend it's a great cl lovely short grass loads of space for the kids to play outside, very close to weymouth sea front and Attractions. The site has a nice stream on both sides which my kids loved to paddle in. there are public footpaths that lead you into weymouth through the country side with horses on the way  to see .at night you can hear owls but did not keep us awake, you have to watch when leaving the site as it is near a sharp bend but traffic should be doing 20mph.thank you Lara for a great weekend and we will be back again in the future.

Excellent CL

The CL is spacious, level and well kept. The river Wey runs down one side of the site, and on both sides there are horse paddocks. The facilities are good, note that the water tap is tucked up in a corner, so motorhomes will need a reasonable length hose. There are comprehensive recycling facilities in place. The access road is a 20mph limit with frequent speed bumps, so road noise isn't really apparent. There are no dogs allowed (one reason we chose it), but a public footpath runs across the site and some owners seem to think it acceptable to let their animals defaecate in the middle of the field - not what you want to see whilst eating breakfast or sitting outside! Not a criticism of the site, but just a general rant about inconsiderate dog owners. The surrounding area is lovely, with plenty of good walks, both coastal and inland. There isn't a pub within walking distance. We would certainly go back to the site if we were in the area again.

Most informative welcome

As previously mentioned, this is a lovely large site. Lara lives opposite the CL and as soon as you arrive is there with all her information and help, probably the most informative welcome we have had for a CL. To help with spacing Lara also provides extension leads if required. The road back towards Weymouth appears to be a bit of a cut through and care is needed if walking that way, it is about an hours walk into Weymouth. There are footpaths through fields to Weymouth from the CL but we did not try those. Lara also does cream teas from her cottage. A measure of the popularity of this CL is that a couple next to us arrived for a 3 week stay, it is their 5th visit and they knew 2 other couples on the CL from previous visits!! This CL would certainly appeal to anyone who want to be near a busy seaside town without having to use their car/ motor home. Overall, plenty of room, level and near a nice seaside town, cannot ask for much more than that.

An excellent CL

This is probably the most spacious CL that we have stayed on. Plenty options to maintain ones own privacy and to respect the privacy of the members already on site. The grass was shorter than on many CLs when we arrived and it was then cut even shorter. Lara is a friendly and welcoming owner who gave us some useful local information when we arrived that proved helpful for eating out and an A & E visit by my wife. We'll definitely make a return visit - to the CL, hopefully not to A & E!

A super CL

We have just spent a wonderful fortnight at Springfield and would definitely recommend it. The site is immaculately kept in beautiful surroundings and the welcome from Lara was warm and informative. Ideally situated for so many superb places in Dorset, we were actually spoilt for choice. Caution is needed when leaving the site as the entrance is on a blind bend, but that is the only disadvantage to this beautiful site!

Quiet and well kept site

Having just spent four nights over spring bank holiday at this very pleasant and friendly C.L. Lara was very welcoming on arrival and we found the directions very clear. We enjoyed a nice walk from site to a nature reserve and then onto Weymouth. We will definitely be returning in the near future            Jill & Roy

A very pleasant site

We have just returned from a 9 night stay on this site and would definitely use it again. We received a warm welcome from the owner who directed us to available pitches. Pitching the 'van was easy and required very little 'chocking up'. The site was well kept and tidy with water and recycling facilities easily accessible but discreet. Best of all is the site's location, it is so easy to get into Weymouth and surrounding area either by car or bus (we didn't actually use the bus but saw where the bus stops were). All in all we had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back again next year!

Just what you want from a CL

Lovely clean well kept site. Warm welcome and very helpful with booking and on reception. There is also a small produce table with home made jam and fresh items at very reasonable prices. Good for local places of interest. I would highly recommend a visit.

Lovely Site

This is a lovely site, peaceful and yet so close to amenities. Its hard to realise it is so close to busy Weymouth town. Lara is lovely & so welcoming. And always has home made produce & eggs from her chickens available. Shall certainly visit this site again!

SPRINGFIELD CL

My wife and I and our 5.5.year old twin grandchildren have just spent seven nights at the this wonderful CL. A lovely flat field (more like a lawn!), good services and re-cycling facilities, the river with a bridge (playing Pohsticks), horses to feed and, above all, a charming owner to meet us and offer advice. Thank you, Lara.
