This was our second time at Spring Thyme, we missed the donkeys but the chickens and cows with their calves kept us entertained without being noisy. John and Isobel are a lovely couple, available when needed. The site is in a good position for visiting the North Yorkshire Moors, the east coast or the Dales. It is possible to visit the Lake District from there but wherever you choose to drive the Yorkshire views are stunning. There are plenty of pretty villages a short drive away, whether you want to wander around, visit an English Heritage site or National Trust property, seriously shop or enjoy a meal - there will be something for each member of the family to enjoy, young or old. We have no hesitation in recommending Spring Thyme as a base to explore the area.
