Beautiful Place to Stay
We stayed for 3 nights in January 2023. This site is really lovely with an immediate sense of peace and quiet in the country. The layout is very good with spacious, level pitches and the site as a whole is well organised, very clean and tidy. Just a 10 minute walk away is the charming little village of North Cowton which has an excellent inn, The Herdsman - food was fantastic with lovely welcoming hosts and a very comfortable and atmospheric interior. There is pleasant walking immediately around along country lanes with beautiful views. The hosts of the site are most pleasant, welcoming and helpful - available when needed but leaving you in peace and quiet otherwise. The donkeys are very cute!
Peaceful Site
We stayed here New Years Eve. The site was spotless, generous hardstandings with no need to drive on any grass to access the pitch. All pitches are 16amp, we would definitely stay here again.
Our new local site
Having recently moved to the area we were looking for a local site near to home. Spring Thyme was recommended to us. We stayed a few nights and were really pleased. John and Isabelle are very welcoming. The site is neat, clean and tidy. It was great having donkeys, cows and chickens for neighbours. Excellent, will certainly be returning to our new local site.

Just Fantastic
We stayed on this site for a week and found it perfect. The owners were very friendly the free range eggs were delicious and we absolutely loved seeing donkeys out our front window every day! We will definetly be back.
Quiet country site
Just returned from a week at this lovely site. Generous pitches are reasonably level allowing lots of space even with our awning. Usual facilities for water and waste and a little information hut. Very accessible from A1 and close to the pretty town of Northallerton which has a good selection of local shops. Surrounded by good walking country but also an easy drive to the coast. Some amazing sunsets as we relaxed in the evenings and watched the donkeys and chickens in the next field. Will be going back again soon.
Lovely quiet site
Spacious and well laid out site in beautifully peaceful rural setting. Pleased to see recycling facilities too. Would definately stay again if in the area.

Our first CL and what a wonderful start
Although owning a caravan we wanted to try out a Motorhome so hired one for a week to travel around Northumberland and North Yorkshire, at the same time we thought we would try out a CL and we were so lucky to have chosen this one as our first.
As you approached down a quiet rural lane you just know you were going to be in for a peaceful relaxing time (just what we were looking for) and we weren’t wrong. All other pitches were taken but nothing disturbed the tranquility and there were plenty of friendly ‘hellos’ from the other campers. The owners were helpful and friendly but not intrusive. The facilities were good, EHU, water and Elsan point (although being the first CL I had nothing to compare them with).
The site is situated on a small holding and the resident pair of donkeys in the adjoining paddock were very entertaining.
The village pub was a gentle 15 minutes walk away providing excellent, above standard, pub food.
All in all we had a lovely relaxing 2 night stay and would definitely recommend this place.
