FRIENDLY SITE

NICE CLEAN SMALL SITE IN A VERY CLEAN AND FRIENDLY VILLAGE. GREAT LOCATION FOR OTHER TOWNS AND VILLAGES,LOCAL VILLAGE IS 1MILE AWAY HAS A GOOD FOOD PUB AND GARAGE FOR SMALL ITEMS AND PAPERS.THE SITE IS SLIGHTLY SLOPING WITH ALL THE CL REQUIREMENTS RECYCLE,WATER/WASTE DISPOSAL ETC ETC.THE OWNER IS FRIENDLY AND INFORMATIVE OF THE LOCAL AREA.NEXT TO THE CL THERE ARE CHICKENS AND 2 DONKEYS WHICH ARE NO TROUBLE , WE HAD SOME OF THE FREE RANGE EGGS THAT THEY SELL AND THEY WERE GREAT FOR BREAKFAST! WE SPENT 3 NIGHTS AND HOPEFULLY WILL BE ABLE TO RETURN IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

Our first CL and what a wonderful start

Although owning a caravan we wanted to try out a Motorhome so hired one for a week to travel around Northumberland and North Yorkshire, at the same time we thought we would try out a CL and we were so lucky to have chosen this one as our first. As you approached down a quiet rural lane you just know you were going to be in for a peaceful relaxing time (just what we were looking for) and we weren’t wrong. All other pitches were taken but nothing disturbed the tranquility and there were plenty of friendly ‘hellos’ from the other campers. The owners were helpful and friendly but not intrusive. The facilities were good, EHU, water and Elsan point (although being the first CL I had nothing to compare them with). The site is situated on a small holding and the resident pair of donkeys in the adjoining paddock were very entertaining. The village pub was a gentle 15 minutes walk away providing excellent, above standard, pub food. All in all we had a lovely relaxing 2 night stay and would definitely recommend this place.

A real gem. Beautifully laid out, neat and tidy. Just visited for the first time, but it won't be our last.

A Great CL

This is a really nice CL. The owners are friendly & helpful & maintain it to a high standard. It is in a rural location so is ideal for a peaceful & relaxing break. It is also ideal for visiting many of the North Yorkshire market towns & attractions. Croft motor racing circuit is close by for those who enjoy motor sport. The local village pub is a ten minute walk away & serves cask ales & good food. There are several pubs serving food a short drive away. The owners keep chickens & fresh eggs are available. All in all it offers great value for money. We enjoy our stays here & always look forward to returning.

Peace and Quiet

If that is what you want, you have it here. My first trip away this year since shielding, so chose a CL for that reason. Everything is in place to ensure you are safe and secure with thoughtfully laid out facilities. The friendly owners always on hand if needed but not at all intrusive. The donkeys and chickens provide endless interest and the fresh eggs to buy are a real treat! Surrounded by rural farmland, great for dog walking, and easy access to places of interest in North Yorkshire, Teeside and County Durham. Excellent value for money and I would definitely stay again. Thank you both for a lovely stay in these strange times.

A little Gem

We took our 4 young granddaughters here as it was fairly close to home and our first trip away for a while. The site was really lovely with a lovely welcome from the owners. We had visitors which were also made to feel welcome. Our granddaughters love caravanning and can be quite noisy at times, but they played happily next to our caravan with no problems. They loved the donkeys in the field next to the caravan. It is really a lovely site, set in lovely surroundings which we will return to again. Absolutely fabulous. Superb value for the money. Other cl's could learn a lot from this site!

Silence is golden

What a find, decided a few days before that we should have a weekend away close to home. The site is perfect, flat pitches, all hard standing with the option of awning on the well cut grass. Small information shed if you are not local with decent water & waste facilities. Very nice & approachable owners. Two nice donkeys in the field beside you. Plenty of birds & wildlife to feast your eyes on, including nice walking area. The passing road, has light traffic with easy access from either A1 or A167.

Beautiful quiet site

Lovely welcome from owners. A quiet site away from the village nearby. Well kept and very good Waste facilities etc. Clean and tidy. We visited with 2 children, they enjoyed watching the donkeys and th fresh chicken and eggs. Felt very safe and secure site, children always within sight! Would return again. Thanks for great stay!

Lovely small site

Really friendly small site, perfect for attending race weekends at Croft Race Circuit. Looking forwards to visiting again next year.

Super CL lovely surroundings

Just returned from our second visit of the season. As usual we received a warm welcome and the site was beautifully kept. We love it for the peace and quiet and the dog loves the donkeys in the field! They are funny to watch and quite entertaining. We will certainly be back again and again and would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet break.
