Where else can you find a site where each pitch is fully serviced and has an en-suite bathroom with toilet and washbasin as well as its own dishwash area ? This site does and I know of nowhere else in the UK which does ( said with experience of having been to over 150 sites ). It really is an excellent site. The pitches are well spaced out and have fantastic views. There are a few drawbacks, the main one being that the pitches have quite a slope on them - we have Milenco Quattro blocks which nearly always manage to get our motorhome level but we could not get it completely level although it was not too bad but some motorhomes with smaller blocks will struggle. The site is also a bit remote from towns and villages and from places of interest but the surrounding countryside is exceptionally peaceful. There are no off-road public footpaths in the vicinity which we thought might be a drawback because we have a dog and we like to be able to take it for off-lead walks. However, the roads around the site have so few vehicles on them and, because the area is so quiet you can hear anything coming long before it is upon you, we found that we were able to walk along the roads with our dog off lead nearly all the time ( apart from when approaching a few blind bends ). Overall I think the site is best as a stopover for a day or two ( we stayed two nights ) but well worth a visit and I would definitely recommend it.
Superb site
This was our first visit to a CL, and we were very impressed by the facilities on offer. A serviced pitch with the added bonus of its own washroom and toilet plus outdoor washing up facilities, not to mention the decking for sunbathing if you’re that way inclined. The views to the west towards Galloway and to the hills to the north were quite impressive.
The site is about five miles from Longtown for shopping and eateries. We visited the Solway Firth, getting as far as Silloth where we had an enjoyable couple of hours. Talkin Tarn is about half an hour way, great for walking the dog.
Linda and David were very welcoming and deserve every success in their new venture.
What a fantastic site
Cannot fault this site at all. Your own personal hut with a toilet, wash basin and a washing up area behind the hut. Your own tap and,a grey waste area. Each pitch is individually marked with green space either side and your own little bit of decking for your chairs etc. Peace and quiet with stunning views. Linda and David are very friendly and helpful.
We have a campervan and this site has spoilt us. We will definitely be visiting again

Highly recommend this perfect CL site
We’ve just returned after a wonderful 3 night stay here.
Linda and David make you very welcome on their working farm and are more than happy to stop for a chat.
The site facilities are immaculate with every pitch having its own washroom, toilet and kitchen.
There is plenty of space between the very generous pitches which also benefit from having a small decked area to enjoy the wonderful views down to the Solway and the Cheviot Hills.
This little quiet and peaceful CL site is a real gem and definitely worth a visit.
We will definitely return.
Thank you

A gem of a CL
I can only echo the comments in the previous reviews. We have just enjoyed 4 nights at South Lamb Hill Farm, and will certainly return. The spacious individual facilities on each of the 5 pitches are a very welcome addition and we made good use of all of them.
This is a quiet and peaceful CL with fantastic views and friendly, welcoming owners. Excellent value for money.

Wonderful views, lovely sunsets and a touch of luxury
We had a fantastic break at this fabulous CL where we enjoyed the most fantastic countryside views and uninterrupted sunsets from our all service pitch which came with its very own immaculately kept, heated wash room incorporating toilet and basin. Also provided with the wooden amenities building was an outside sink, locking points for your bikes and a small decked area. The host Linda was very welcoming and so helpful and went out of her way to make sure we well looked after. Access to the site could not be easier as the local roads are nice and wide with good connections to Carlisle the M6 and other major A roads. The pitches are a Good size, the site is so quiet and peaceful. Motorhomes will need chocks for leveling. This site is a gem, we will be back.
Perfect long weekend with panoramic countryside views
We’ve had a wonderful long weekend with Linda and David on their brand new site - in fact, we’ve already booked again for later in the summer.
Excellent roads to the site from the A7, despite the peaceful, rural location: spacious with good visibility ahead. We arrived at the site and our pitch was noted on the board next to the lovely, old postbox (which has information leaflets about the area), and Linda popped along later in the afternoon to welcome us.
There are 5 generously sized, fully serviced pitches on a gentle slope - expect to have to level a little bit. The pitches are all west facing with far-reaching countryside views with beautiful evening sunsets. The weather was quite unsettled while we there - which meant we got to see some amazing, changing, moody skies. They’ve planted trees between the pitches which will provide plenty of privacy when established, but the decking on each pitch provides privacy too. It’s a farm location, but we weren’t disturbed by any machinery at all. Very peaceful, just the sounds of the countryside.
The private, heated toilet cabins behind each pitch were spotlessly clean and a real luxury. There was a shelf and coat hooks for bits and bobs and Linda and David had also printed out three local walks from the site you can choose from. There’s an outside pot wash and draining board - which we appreciated, especially after grilling veg and meat outside.
Using our binoculars we spotted a tower in the distance, so headed over to nearby Langholm in search of ‘Malcolm’s Monument’. There are so many walks nearby, and next time we’ll be heading over to Kielder to explore there too. Thank you Linda and David - we’ll see you soon!
Peaceful and relaxing
We have just spent 2 nights at this site and have left feeling totally relaxed. Very peaceful CL with 5 pitches, each one with private, heated huts with toilet and wash basin and a pot washing sink at the rear, fresh water and grey waste.
The views are outstanding from all the pitches and the sunset was beautiful.
Some levelling needed.
Linda and David are lovely, chatty hosts.
South Lamb Hill CL
Great new CL site, with fully serviced hard standing pitches, all with own toilet, sink and dish washing facilities on your pitch! All five pitches have stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside whilst still being within a short drive of local town and Carlisle city. Lovely and peaceful with lots of bird song and a woodpecker. Could not fault the cleanliness or ease of access to all pitches.
