Very quiet, peaceful spot close to the Thames
This was my second visit to Smokedown Farm. (I have a sister who lives in Faringdon and this is a convenient site for the town.) The field is just beyond the farm yard, flat with ample hook ups and the usual conveniences. The grass was short and there was no sign of flooding although we chose a particularly wet time to visit. It felt deep in the country with only the farm house and the cows, and birds for company. Mrs Viner was friendly and charged only £10 per night including electricity which I thought was excellent value. The approach road via Faringdon is very narrow but has a few passing places and very little traffic. The approach from the East via Littleworth avoids Faringdon but is narrower for longer. We arrived that way and didn't meet any traffic at all.
