Excellent site

Excellent site, very welcoming, easy to find just off the main road, the pitches that the field are on is higher up than the main road, so road noise of passing traffic is to a minimum. Toilet is spotless, fresh drinking water points, grey water waste point and also a point to empty your portable loo's I called and got a pitch at very very short notice whilst i was in the area and was made to feel very welcome. i can highly recommend this site and will defiantly use again if back up that area.

Great Site and Location

Was meet by Jane and Bill and given a very friendly welcome. Booked a 4 night stay and was lucky to have 3 nights on the site all to ourselves. Lovely views over the fields and could hear the neighing of the horses in the morning. The facilities, in this case just a toilet and wash hand basin, were clean and tidy with an area for local information and leaflets. Jane was helpful with suggestions of where to visit. There are some lovely little fishing villages along the coast which are worth a visit but they are very quiet sometimes with no shop/cafe or pub. Fraserburgh was interesting as was Peterhead, both worth visiting. Tesco's and Asda in Fraserburgh both with filling stations. Would definitely recommend this site.

Good location

Lovely little site, well maintained and easy to find off the main road. Bill and Jane were very welcoming , always had time to chat. Nice to have a tap on each pitch. Liked the area, really enjoyed the day we went along the coast road to Buckie, some lovely fishing harbours and villages, it did seem as though there were a lots of holiday accommodation as not much life but very characterful.

Great CL.

Great wee site, nice views from the slightly elevated, good sized pitches. Very well maintained, which hopefully you can see from the pics. There is a single toilet on site for members use which was a real bonus. We arrived after dark so finding our pitch was a bit tricky, basically it's on the lhs as you drive up the incline. Once we got a headtorch out we found our pitch and put the light on! Only slight negative point is proximity to the main road, there is some road noise, didn't really affect us and we were on the closest pitch to the road so probably won't be noticed by most. Overall, a fantastic site, will be staying again!

One of the best

This must be one of the best CL's we have ever stayed on. Spotless pitches and lovely views. The owners are the friendliest we have ever met on a CL and could not have been more helpful. We will definitely stay there again if we are anywhere nearby, and there are not many CL's I would say that about. We rarely stay for more than one night anywhere but loved it so much we stayed longer.

Absolutely perfect

Stunning cl with great views from the pitches. Friendly, helpful, and attentive site owners are a pleasure to meet. Site is immaculate and one definitely on the map for a return to when in the area. Huge bonus was seeing and a wee travel in Bill’s gloriously restored 1934 Morris 10.4 car. Can’t recommend this cl highly enough.

Easily located, very welcoming, lovely location with views and vintage cars! Very beautiful, polished vintage cars. Grass cut perfectly and not left lying. Barrow full of flowers to set off the view. Water and electricity on each pitch and toilet disposal easily accessed. Very good value considering all of the above.

Warm welcome from helpful owner

Very neat, well signposted site beside busy main road - quite a lot of traffic noise, especially at going to work time, few lorries through the night. Very clean toilet and wash basin with hot water. Spacious pitches and short grass - tree protection from prevailing wind behind pitches very welcome. Good base for touring North Aberdeenshire - roads all of very high standard. Asda, Tesco and Lidl in nearby Fraserburgh.

A CL site you will wish to return to

Stayed here at Smithy Croft for a couple of nights this week, mainly to visit friends in the area. A change having water on tap on the pitch. Clean toilet, well maintained site and were impressed with the grass cutting being collected instead of being carried into our vehicle as often happens on sites. Very friendly couple running this, very helpful and we were glad of the information given to us on how to manage the AWPR going south, Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route, posh title for a by pass. Lovely views, we enjoyed just sitting and relaxing as well. Happy some fresh eggs were able to come home with us thanks to their hens! We will certainly go back which is something we can't say about other CL sites.
