Great CL site
Skybarn Farm is everything that you could want from a CL site. OK, there are no toilets, showers or washing up facilities but when we book CL sites thats what we expect. All five pitches are well spaced out, "Fully serviced", and have large, flat and level hardstanding on stones. There is plenty of space for a van and awning and then more. The site is secured with entrance gates which operate from a keypad. The owner was very friendly and helpful and she came to greet us a couple of hours after arrival and then she came to check everything was OK a couple of days later.
The site is a working arable farm so don't expect stunning views over the rolling hills, it's Lincolnshire, it's flat and slightly featureless but there are lots of tracks surrounding the farm fields and these are the basis of the dog walks. On the plus side, the hedgerows were bustling with bird life and we spotted plenty of rabbits and a few hares in the fields.
The one big bonus that we liked was the "Phone App" that Skybarn use to give loads of information about themselves, places to visit, things to do, local transport etc., etc. It really was useful and became our one-stop shop for any info we needed. Its about ten miles into the centre of Lincoln and around the same to the Park and Ride which is based at a large Waitrose store, and then a ten minute bus ride into the centre of Lincoln.
Tip: if you are visiting the castle or cathedral area, the park and ride bus stops about 200 yards from the rear of the cathedral, this means you don't have to walk up the very long steep streets from the city centre to visit this part of the city.
We enjoyed our six days in and around Lincoln, the city centre and the waterfront around the marina was busier than we expected considering we are still have some Covid restrictions but we found plenty of outdoor seating at the restaurant's and all the staff doing there best under difficult circumstances.
Negatives: Only one really. There is some road noise at Skybarn as the main A46 is quite close across the fields. It didn't bother us too much, but it might bother some people.
Would we stay here again? 100% yes.
