Very clean and tidy and very welcoming. There is a little noise from the road but not intrusive in the van. Having a motor home we loved the hard standing. The Tardis of a shed had loads of leaflets, electric cable (should you need an extra) extra chairs for your visitors ect ect plus the lovely eggs both duck and hen. We shall visit again, there is so much to see plus it is our sort of site. Thank you.
My wife and I have just had 3 nights at Sky barn farm, and I can say we will defenatley be back to this gem of a site, with all hard standing and secure electric coded gates to get into the site it is not only very handy for Lincoln and surrounding areas but secure as well, there was a warm welcome by the owners and there is an information shed with loads of help if looking for things to do to inspire you, also fresh farm eggs, looking forward to visiting again.
We found Skybarn Farm a very relaxing and peaceful site. The owners were very friendly and extremely helpful. We are looking forward until we can visit again
Everything you could want in a CL! Very clean and tidy, even an information hut with local info in it. Lovely that the farm owners allow you to walk their farm tracks, great for walking our dog. The owner Nicola greeted us with half a dozen eggs, as it was Easter, which was a really nice thought. The site is close to the A46, which means a little road noise if you are outside during the day (can't hear it in the van), but a very small price to pay for such a great site. We will definitely be back.
Just got back from a short break to Skybarn Farm and I have to say its a gem. Yes there is a little road noise but this is the only slight negative. The site is well laid out, all hard standings, perfect for this time of year. The info hut (few and far between on CLs) has lots of books, mags and leaflets for ideason what to do. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. We had a visit from my sister who is about to purchase a motorhome and I'm sure both she and I will be visiting again soon.
This proved a very convenient site for visiting Lincoln and surrounding area. The site is secure and well maintained. Appreciated the well stocked information hut and being able to walk the dog around the fields.
We booked in for 6 nights, having been here before we knew we would be well looked after. The water emptying point has been refurbished due to moles under mining it. We had a fantastic time with sunrises and sunsets that took our breath away. The facility's are top notch. Try the royal Oak at Auborn its small but very friendly with a good Chef. Thanks again Nicola, we will be back.
We stopped here for the second New Year in a row. The previous review says it all really. Can add that there is a dog walk around the fields, and that the site is only a couple of miles from Whisby Nature Reserve which has a number of waymarked walks. There is some road noise from the A46 Lincoln/Newark depending on the wind direction, but not enough to be any bother during the night. The nearest pub is in Aubourn a couple of miles away by road, but can be reached over the fields.
Hope to return again in the future.
Booked with Skybarn at the last minute as another CL had let us down.
Easy to use website allows you to see if they have a pitch available for your required dates and then a few more mouse clicks and you are through to the registration and payment page. It didn't take long to finish on the web as payment is only needed upfront for Bank Holidays.
Arrival information and gate codes were sent through within a few hours of the booking so we knew exactly how to get there and access the site. We were also told we were the only ones booked in for the weekend so we could pitch up in any place we wished.
On arrival we were greeted by the hosts who were back from a walk with the dog and had seen us pull up so thought they would check everything was all right as it was our first time on the site.
Well we could have no complaints with the welcome or the site. It is laid out in a sensible pattern with five hard standing pitches with enough space for both the car and caravan to remain on the hard standing while each pitch also has a grassed area that will leave space for out door living next to a large awning pitched on the grass and you still would not be disturbing the neighbouring caravan.
No shower or toilet block but when you have them in your caravan why do you need them on site which would just push the price up. They do have points for emptying grey waste and toilets, plus multiple bins so that all waste can be recycled or in the case of food scraps reused on the farm itself.
They also have a wonderful information shed that has leaflets (that are upto date) for the surrounding area and attractions along with maps and also they have supplied polystyrene Hot/Cold boxes so you can take cold drinks on a day trip or if you are fetching a takeaway you can use one to ensure it is still a hot meal when you are ready to eat.
It is an excellent site and as much as it pains me to say it I would recommend it to anyone visiting the Lincoln area (I am pains to recommend it as I do not want to find I am unable to make a booking due to increased popularity!!)
We will certainly be making use of this site for visiting friends in Lincoln.
