Breakwater Beach Holidays, Cottages and Caravans

I have just got back from a nice week at Shamrock, and can understand the points raised by the other reviewers, so here is an update. There are NO showers or toilet facilities on the site. There used to be, but the owners now rent the mobile classroom style block out to a local plumber for office and storage space. The Elsan point is just a toilet bowl behind the mobile with no rinsing tap, and this is also the only point I could find to tip the grey water, a heavy lift for most ! That's the negatives out of the way, the good points are that this is in a very good location with Mablethorpe a 30 minute stroll to the left and Sutton about the same to the right, ideal for dog walkers (but be aware of the dog restrictions on the beach near Mablethorpe). The owners did appear to be working on the site to tidy it up a bit, the ex-nursery is still a bit of an eyesore, but the pitching field was well kept and clean and tidy. The owners do not seem to be on site full time,so on arrival,we just picked a pitch where there was a spare EHU and set up, no problem. (It did take a few trips to the back door of the house to eventually pay), but if you are not a worrier, these are minor quibbles. Shops and club houses (for the static sites on each side) 5-10 minutes walk each way. A nice quiet relaxed little CL in a good spot, but if the lack of a shower and toilet block bothers you, look elsewhere.

This is the second time we've stayed at this cl and is probably the best regarding location especially with dogs, shower and toilet not in use this time and was told haven't been for some time so maybe an update to site facilities?? Do think it needs a bit of tlc but its not a major problem and both us and my parents who are new club members will return :)
