We have just returned from a stay at Breakwater, it's a lovely little site next to the beach great for dogs, situated between Mablethorpe a 25 min walk along the prom and Sutton 20 min in the otherdirection, Mablethoroe has plenty of pubs and is more lively that Sutton, there is a little shop on the site next door with a pub and they do meals. The owners See and Tim are very welcome g See keeps the site clean and tidy and the grass is always short they are constantly on have it you need to ask, sadly the one down side is the elsan point it lacks a flush there is a hose but not strong enough other guests also mentioned it was poor maybe it will be better in our next visit. We paid £20 a night unsure of the £13 advertised perhaps that's for winter, anyway a great little site we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return next year.
Ideal site with cottage also available
Just spent four nights at Breakwater. Lovely well kept site with grassed pitches. Also got the flexibility of a cottage on site if you want to holiday with folk who don't have a tourer. So well placed for the beach and surrounding area. Sutton on Sea quieter than Mablethorpe, which was quieter than Skeg Vegas (Skegness). Something for everyone.
Brilliant spot
Just had 2 days at the site. Faultless. Great position only 30 yards from the promenade / beach. Lovely walks along the seafront. Thanks Tim
Welcome
Welcomed on site by friendly owner and given advice of which pitch may be suitable. Very quiet and peaceful site and as stated, very close to promenade and beach with plenty of walking in each direction. Site clean and tidy with covid sanitizer available and cleaning of fresh water taps observed during the day. Facilities not available because of covid risk which we were told about previous to booking,
Nice site, maybe spoilt by first impressions as a bit untidy at entrance with old caravan and sheds, thought £20 per night a bit pricey.
A little piece of countryside a stone's throw from the beach
This is a lovely site. As you drive in you can't help noticing how many trees, bushes and all sorts of flowers and plants surround you. And when you site your caravan/motorhome you then realise just how close to the promenade you actually are - you can literally walk from your door onto the prom in less than two minutes to see magnificent sea views and long golden beaches for miles in either direction. There is a gate leading out the back of the site onto the prom steps. A 20 minute stroll with no hills gets you to Sutton and maybe 5 minutes more in the other direction to Mablethorpe with loos and cafes along the way. The owners, Tim and Dee are lovely too. Nothing was too much trouble. They work away constantly, mowing the grass and keeping the place looking a perfect balance of a well-kept garden with wildlife in mind. A truly fine example of a CL.
Work in progress
Perfect location a stones throw away from the beach, quiet site and very helpful owner.
However I thought we had driven into a scrap yard on arrival. Derelict storage barn, disused portacabin and general presentation of site was poor. Shower room attached to main cottage but whilst being modern, it was cold, the door didn’t shut properly, no window blind or hand dryer.
There was no hard turning space for van and the grass was waterlogged ( I know you can’t rely on weather) if you had booked a grass pitch you probably would have been stuck at this time of year.
Once this site is revamped which the owners are doing, it will be a little gem.
Unfortunately this was our first experience of a CL and it was not what we expected 🙁
WOW a true gem
A true gem of a site a warm welcome and so relaxing the owners are still updating the site and will be terrific when completed still work in progress but better than other sites we have stayed on nice wet room with shower and toilet. access to the site is very easy nice wide gates no problem
steps to the beach no roads to cross shop and bar on the static site next door open to the public 5 minuets walk away and nice meals all this at a bargain price looking forward to our next visit

Can’t wait to return
First time we visited in March to watch the beach racing, after a false start the weekend before; Tim, the owner was only too helpful and happy to assist. We enjoyed it so much, as did Spud, the dog, we booked to return before we left. Hopefully, be back many times. Fabulous location for running the dog. Great fish and chips locally too.
Just Perfect
A warm welcome awaited us from Tim and Dee and we pitched up for our 9 nights here. The site its self has easy access and is really well care for and the owners take great pride in looking after both guest and the surroundings. The field is well laid out and we set up with ease. There is a wet room and toilet with easy access. The best bit is the stunning location just wow. . The beach is just through a little gate and up the steps. We spent many an hour sitting with a glass of wine ( well bottle if I'm honest) on the sea wall just looking out at the sea. Just a short stroll or bike you can be in Sutton on Sea or the other way Mablethorpe. You really could not ask more from a site. The booking and communications were easy and we felt like friends before we even arrived . The local Chinese takeaway in Sutton do deliver to the site and the food was lovely. Also can recommend the Beach Bar and Fat Seagull also in Sutton. We hope everyone who visits here has a wonderful time as we did and we can't wait to come back. Just wish we lived closer but well worth the drive.
