We booked Severnside as a stopover on the way home. How lucky were we to pick such a beautiful spot. A short 5 minute walk to the Ship Inn pub, didn’t have time to visit on this trip, but we will next time. Just beyond the pub is the Severn valley railway Highly station. From here you can get the train to Bridgnorth or Kidderminster. The Steam museum is based at Highly and worth a visit, it has a cafe and shop. The site itself is really quiet, has stunning views of the river and the valley. An occasional steam whistle sometimes breaks the silence but adds to the ambiance. Highly recommend this site if you’re looking for something in the area.
