We booked Severnside as a stopover on the way home. How lucky were we to pick such a beautiful spot. A short 5 minute walk to the Ship Inn pub, didn’t have time to visit on this trip, but we will next time.
Just beyond the pub is the Severn valley railway Highly station. From here you can get the train to Bridgnorth or Kidderminster. The Steam museum is based at Highly and worth a visit, it has a cafe and shop.
The site itself is really quiet, has stunning views of the river and the valley. An occasional steam whistle sometimes breaks the silence but adds to the ambiance.
Highly recommend this site if you’re looking for something in the area.
Beautiful scenery.
Hidden away in the Severn Valley with Highley Station a 5 minute walk away also about 20 minutes (uphill) into Highley village with all amenities you eed, you can't beat this peaceful site. Just below Highley Station there sits The Ship Inn serving lovely food and drink and if you turn right out of your motorhome/caravan follow the River Severn through the fields for about 45 minutes you come to the beautiful Arley village with its own Severn Valley railway stop plus The Harbour Inn which again serves lovely food and drink. Even though the steam trains run regular you hardly notice the steam whistle or the train trundling along the track.
It has a toilet and shower combined but not exclusive to guests and they are cleaned every morning.
Well worth a visit to the this lovely peaceful site.
