A Little Gem

Arrived with no problem, entrance through the gate a little tight, but if I'd used the space available to turn in ,would not have been a problem, I'll know for next time, had no problem leaving the site. The views were stunning, overlooking the river Lune where there were always swans to watch. Slightly sloping pitch but easily levelled with blocks, as the site was quiet we were able to have a fully serviced pitch. The owners were very friendly and we even enjoyed a cup of tea with them. Site was peaceful and the only passing traffic was going up to the farm. We would definitely recommend this site and will definitely be returning.

Spectacular scenery

Arrived with no problems, the lane is single track but as it only goes to the farm there is very little traffic. Slight slope to the pitches but nothing we couldn't manage. Very welcoming and friendly. The view from the van was wonderful with a good length of the river Lune in view we spent time just watching the swans, geese and ducks swimming by (there are a lot of swans here). Each pitch has hook up and a water tap and drain. Recycling facilities on site. There are quite a few pubs within easy distance, we went to the Sundial Inn in Low Bentham for a meal which was good and a reasonable price. Plenty to see and do within a 30 minute drive, we spent quite a few days at Leighton Moss bird reserve. For a relatively new site it is well set up, and we understand that they are going to do some more bits to make it even better. We loved it and will be back soon.

Lovely New Location

Lovely new site located above the River Lune and practically on the amalgamation with the River Wenning offering wonderful views. Although the site is at the end of a narrow road we had no concerns with the access although a CL sign here and there might have been useful as we had forgotten to read joining instructions.!! Good sized hard standings (all slightly sloping) with water and electric at each. The site is rural but not quite as secluded as we first thought as we did hear quite a bit of road noise from the A683 across the river, especially motorbikes. It was the weekend and this is a notorious run for motorbikes. At the other end of the scale, when all was quiet, we heard owls at dusk which is always a bonus. Plenty of walking scope, either along the lanes or the river bank. Very friendly owners who came to collect the rent the following morning. This was our first trip of the year away with the motorhome and we wanted to test everything worked and also to climb onto the roof to clean the green algae off. This site suited us perfectly, with water right next to us.

GREAT CL/ LOVELY VIEWS

Very friendly people. Nice large hardstanding pitches with water tap close to each pitch and EHU. Beautiful views down to and over the river. We only stayed one night as work next day but would have loved to stay longer, very peaceful and relaxing. Went for a walk with dogs gorgeous views of the surrounding hills covered in snow. We will definitely return, brilliant CL site.

Beautiful views

A lovely site with large hard standing pitches , a slight slope but easily  accommodated . The views are beautiful along the river and it was total peace and quite . Easy to access walking along the river bank with plentiful wildlife  including kingfishers and otters . We only stopped one night , as an ideal stop off on way back from Scotland , so didn't get time to investigate the area fully and look forward to returning again .  The road in is a little challenging but we were fortunate in not meeting anything either way .. so good to know they are trying to improve this .

Quiet rural site

Excellent site. Clean, well maintained. Some pitches slightly sloping, but not a big problem, but the owner said he is going to level them up this coming winter. TV reception was a bit iffy, but was told that it seemed to vary from pitch to pitch. Again the owner aims to rectify this by reducing the height of some of the trees along the side of the site, & is also looking into installing a signal boosting system. All in all a top class CL, & next year should be even better.

Beautiful quiet site - we'll be back

Beautiful area - small and private site with lovely views Each pitch has it's own fresh water tap and grey water drainage As we are novices, the narrow access road worried us because we are not very good at reversing the caravan :) though John did offer to drive ahead and 'spot' for us There's no toilet block or showers but that's ok with us

What a cracker

You couldnt wish to meet nicer people than John & Dave always obliging and good down to earth people. The Lane approach is very narrow but on speaking with the brothers they are looking to widen the road so that should improve in the future. Plenty to do in the area as you are Bordering Cumbria and North Yorkshire so plenty things to do in which ever direction you wish to explore. We dont really do CL sites but this site is just brill & the brothers are always looking to improve where possible. Every pitch has its own elec point, water tap, and drainage, this made our holiday alone as we were not trailing back and forwards emptying and refilling barrels Oh Lovely !!!!! We spent a fabulous 6 nights at this site, and we will most definately return, Thank you John & Dave.

great location

Stayed here for 4 nights in August and would thoroughly recommend. Yes, road is a bit narrow and tricky for us first timers, but nothing which cannot be managed by driving sensibly. The views across the Lune valley are stunning, and the site is very peaceful and well maintained. Easy to get out and about to local attractions, and well worth walking along the river trail and across to Hornby. John was very helpful and welcoming, and we will definitely be going back! We had a loveley relaxing break here.

Great CL

I am tempted to keep quiet about this CL so that I can always get a pitch but its only fare to John & Dave the owners to be truthful so here goes. This is a gem of a CL, yes access is narrow but no worse than many other sites. The pitches are laid out very well in order to maximize the fabulous views and are very easy to reverse onto due to being diagonal. All pitches have water tap elec and there own waste point which is a very nice touch meaning no waste container to empty, you will of course need adequate length of waste pipe. Chocks under the front steadies are required to get absolutely level as the pitches are slightly sloping forward however I understand that this is to be rectified. John and Dave were both very friendly and helpfull. This is peaceful site with views over the river and the hills beyond so if a relaxing and quiet holiday is what you desire this site fulfils your requirements. Oh and worth mentioning that dogs are catered for as within seconds of the gate you are in a large field along the river which during our stay was not fast flowing so our cocker had a swim. We will most certainly be back on a regular basis.
