Just spent an amazing 9 days at this site and rate it very highly. We had never been on the East Coast and we wanted to explore this lesser known area as we were aware of the tidal erosion that was n going in the area, and wanted to explore the area before it went. The site is on flat well drained land, each with hard standing but with grass for your awning. Staff and Audrey were delightful and gave us a warm welcome. There are two sets of toilets, plenty of open space and sheltered from winds. The North Sea coast is a short 20 minute walk away through the small village of Easington, which has two pubs and a small shop. There are lovely walks around the site over to the humber and across to the north sea coast, and for those with dogs a long dog walk across the road into open fields. The Crown and Anchor at nearby Kilnsea gives you delightful views out over the Humber. Spurn Nature Reserve is near but you can no longer drive or cycle out to it and dogs are banned because of the birds nesting in the area but for those of you who are fit enough its a lovely wlka, or for others like us a ride on the prpose built wagon is anothyer way to reach the end of the point. Check the times on the board at the start of the reserve. We spent most of our time driving up the coast road through Withernsea, Hornsea, Flamborough Head and up to Whitby. Hull's The Deep is must see. Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend this site highly - we had it to ourselves during the week and its such a shame as it is a well maintained peaceful site and deserves more visitors. In the middle of school holidays we thought it would be a good idea to try our first CL, having had Sandalwood recommended by a friend we gave it a try. Sandalwood is a great CL, the facilities are excellent and very well looked after, a real credit to the owners, unfortunately following an enormous and continuous downpour overnight, our stay came to an early end due to the pitch flooding!! Just one of those things sadly! Should we return to this part of the world we would definitely return to Sandalwood highly recommended site.
