A lovely site for a peaceful holiday.

This is a gem of a CL. The owners are very welcoming and the site is beautifully maintained. Lawned with hardstandings and surrounded by hedges and with very clean toilets and showers this is all you could ask for for a peaceful break. Plenty of dog walks and just 5 minutes by car to the sandy beach. Thoroughly recommended.

One of our favourite CL sites

Have stayed on this lovely site many times to visit family. You can be sure of a warm welcome from the owners. The pitches are spacious, hard standing surrounded by well kept grass. Toilets and showers are kept clean and are good for a CL. We would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the area.

A Pleasant CL

We stayed for two nights while travelling down the east coast. We were given a very friendly reception on arrival by owner Stafford. The CL is easy to find with good access from the road. The site has hard standings set in lawned areas and is laid out in two sections, one at the front adjacent the road and another area behind Stafford's "shed". Pitches are sheltered from the road by plantings of trees and shrubs. The facilities are good, toilet and showers clean but a bit dated. The nearby village of Easington is pleasant with two pubs. The site is convenient for visiting Spurn Point. There are bird watching hides on the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust reserve there. Stafford is very knowledgeable about the history of the local area as he is a local lad and is happy to tell you of any local points of interest. Morning papers can be ordered through the site owners.

May delight

Just spent an amazing 9 days at this site and rate it very highly. We had never been on the East Coast and we wanted to explore this lesser known area as we were aware of the tidal erosion that was n going in the area, and wanted to explore the area before it went. The site is on flat well drained land, each with hard standing but with grass for your awning. Staff and Audrey were delightful and gave us a warm welcome. There are two sets of toilets, plenty of open space and sheltered from winds. The North Sea coast is a short 20 minute walk away through the small village of Easington, which has two pubs and a small shop. There  are lovely walks around the site over to the humber and across to the north sea coast, and for those with dogs a long dog walk across the road into open fields. The Crown and Anchor at nearby Kilnsea gives you delightful views out over the Humber. Spurn Nature Reserve is near but you can no longer drive or cycle out to it and dogs are banned because of the birds nesting in the area but for those of you who are fit enough its a lovely wlka, or for others like us a ride on the prpose built wagon is anothyer way to reach the end of the point. Check the times on the board at the start of the reserve. We spent most of our time driving up the coast road through Withernsea, Hornsea, Flamborough Head and up to Whitby. Hull's The Deep is must see. Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend this site highly - we had it to ourselves during the week and its such a shame as it is a well maintained peaceful site and deserves more visitors. A great CL

We have now stopped here twice with friends a great little CL. Showers and toilets are good for a CL. The owners are really friendly and very helpful. The CL itself is kept clean and very tidy it is grassed area which I like. Nearest sea side town is Withernsea !! If your into bird watching I guess the surrounding area is great for that with Spurn Point just up the road. Yes we like this CL

Great Site

In the middle of school holidays we thought it would be a good idea to try our first CL, having had Sandalwood recommended by a friend we gave it a try. Sandalwood is a great CL, the facilities are excellent and very well looked after, a real credit to the owners, unfortunately following an enormous and continuous downpour overnight, our stay came to an early end due to the pitch flooding!! Just one of those things sadly! Should we return to this part of the world we would definitely return to Sandalwood highly recommended site.

Excellent CL

We recently spent 5 nights here our first visit. We received a very warm and friendly welcome from the owners, who let us have a choice of vacant pitches. The site is very well maintained with 2 showers, and 3 toilets, all of which are kept spotless and cleaned each day. All in all an excellent CL which we would certainly return to.

Just like staying with old friends

Our first experience of staying on a CL and we were left wondering why it had taken us so long.... What a great welcome, it was like staying with old friends. Excellent location and just a gentle stretch on the bike over to Spurn Point, a must to any visitor. The site is beautiful, flat and very well kept as are the facilities. We will return.

A weekend away in July 2013

What more can I really say that the previous reviews have not? Fantastic CL, wonderful and very welcoming hosts, excellent facilities. A bit of road noise if you have sensitive hearing but otherwise perfect. Read my 'Post It from Sandalwood CL' in the stories section of Club Together to see what is readily on offer in the area to caravans and motorhomers, like us, with only bikes. Regards, Roy
