Love to go back

Glad we found this site. Only stayed three nights but want to go back for longer stay. It is country lanes but that's what you get in the countryside.

Lovely Peaceful Site

We arrived at Rookery Farm  for our 8 day stay, on a wet evening and was greeted by the owner Peter who explained where we were to pitch. The size of the pitches were excellent. He explained which way the sun rose, which way the TV signal was best and said that we could pitch our van anyway we wanted so long as we were within the boundaries of our pitch. Very flat site, very well kept and very peaceful. We were attacked by little flying insects and there was absolutely no wifi signal but apart from that we had a lovely stay. Would recommend and definitely visit again.

Comment from The Club

Many thanks for leaving your review and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay.  The CL owners have been in touch with us as they are keen to address your concerns regarding the WiFi signal.  Rookery Farm does not have WiFi on their site but they hope members will enjoy being so close to Suffolk’s picturesque heritage coast and the peace and quiet that brings.  Thank you again for leaving a review.

Beautiful and peaceful site

Stayed 10 very relaxing days here, this is a beautiful site which is kept in perfect condition due to the efforts of Pete the owner who was always very helpful from the moment we arrived till the day we left. On arrival we liked the information board which indicated which pitch we had been allocated and we also liked the availability of electricity and water at each pitch. The site is lovely with ponds and moat with waterfowl complete with chicks at this time of year. We had our large dog with us and dog walking was easy with local fields available and the local pub is dog friendly only one field away. The location was ideal for us to see the area from Aldeburgh to Southwold and its environs. Thanks to Pete and his wife for a nice holiday and we would certainly recommend this site and would come again.

Perfectly peaceful

Our second visit and certainly won't be our last. This beautiful CL gets better & better. It is spacious and beautifully maintained. Surrounded by beautiful open countryside with perfect dog walking opportunities and lots of lovely local places to visit within easy reach. Absolutely NO traffic noise and the occasional chug chug of the local train - apart from that its wall to wall birdsong. The owners work hard to keep this CL in such excellent condition with all the amenities absolutely spotless and well looked after. Wonderful value for money and definitely one of our very favourites.

Perfect Peaceful Getaway

Superbly run CL, immaculate site, supremely organised! This place is a gem, on arrival we were met by Peter who showed us where everything was and ran through places to go and things to see in the area. At no point did anything seem too much trouble, our children were welcome to look at the chickens, chicks and horses and we were all made to feel extremely welcome. This site is a credit to their efforts, its a pleasure to stay here, make sure you check out the wonderful honey! don't miss it! 5*

A little gem

We just spent a very relaxing week at this little gem of a campsite.  It is extremely well organised with a drinking water tap at each electric point. The waste facilities are excellent too. It is a very peaceful, level, grassy site.  Peter and Catherine, the owners, are very friendly and helpful and never stop working.  It is an excellent centre for Southwold, Beccles, Minsmere and Dunwich Heath, all well worth a visit. We will definitely visit again soon, thank you.

First Rate CL

We received a very warm welcome from the owners, Peter and Catherine. The planning and work that has gone into this CL is certainly a credit to them.  Everything is on hand, with water and electricity on each pitch.   It is very tranquil with views over surrounding countryside. There is a local shop and a pub, The Racehorse just a very short distance away. There are some lovely walks from the CL and close to the coastal towns of Southwold and Minsmere. We certainly look forward to returning to this  CL again.

Fabulous CL

My husband and I stayed at the Rookery Farm site for two weeks and absolutely loved it! I was recovering from an operation and needed somewhere quiet and peaceful to recuperate - it was just perfect! It is a nice, level, well maintained area with a toilet on site and a freshwater tap very conveniently placed at each electricity bollard. There is a railway line nearby but the trains run quite slowly and we hardly noticed them at all during our stay, it certainly wasn't intrusive. In fact this is one of the quietest sites we have stayed on, at night all we could hear were the tawny owls hooting! The Racehorse pub (good food) is just a few minutes walk away, as is the local store. The site owners Peter and Catherine are very welcoming, friendly and helpful - this lovely site comes highly recommended by us - we will most certainly return again in the future!

great CL in Suffolk

Finding the site was straightforward and we received a warm welcome from Peter Langford. The site is flat and very pleasant, and the water and electric convienient for all vans. The local pub 'The Racehorse' was also very welcoming with good food and Adnams beer, brewed locally in Southwold. Southwold itself is an interesting and pleasant seaside town just about 10 miles away with a wonderful pier, a must for visitors - it certainly gave us a chuckle or two. Sadly we could only stay 2 nights but we are certainly planning to return next year.
