Great site and great location

We stopped for 10 days over the Easter week. Friendly host which you will probably see in the Racehorse Inn behind the bar of the community pub. We sited the caravan facing the wood when you would be better to site sideways on to get the sun for the full day. (As per site photo). You have three water taps for the 5 pitches which is a bit of a pity as it would not take a lot to ensure each pitch had a tap. All in all a great place to stay and I am sure we will be back

A wonderful well kept site.

We had two very pleasant days/nights here at the Rookery. The welcome was warm and friendly, the site was clean, quiet and spacious. Having the water and electricity at the pitch was most convenient. A short walk into the village is The Racehorse Inn, a pub now run extremely well by the community. We had a drink here on Saturday evening and lunch on Sunday and can highly recommend it. There were mainly local people eating which is always a good sign. In all Rookley Farm CL was a very pleasant stopover. ❤️

A beautiful peaceful friendly place

We stay fairly local to home, for 2 night breaks, so this was just under 30 miles from home, but could be a million miles away. Really peaceful, tranquil location. The couple running it were very friendly, relaxed and welcoming. Arrival information was easy to find. We had a small issue finding the location, as it’s a little hidden, between two rows of houses (didn’t help that we were arriving from the opposite direction to the directions on the page!) and had to turn the van round in the village! Certainly set some tongues wagging lol! But couldn’t have asked for more on the site. Everything we needed. Toilets etc closed due to covid, which is understandable and we have our own, so wasn’t a problem. Reliable electricity connection, water where needed. Pitches really well spaced, and the grass is cut when someone has left, so always easy to set up. You can set your van in whichever direction suits you and it’s a great spot for any sun. Even the tv and mobile reception was brilliant, which can be a problem in the countryside. Great location to explore the local area, and anything you need is within accessible locations with a car. Not a bad word to say really! Just go extremely slow through the village, or you may end up in our predicament lol. Even though it’s local ish to us, we would absolutely come and stay again, and wholeheartedly recommend everyone should stay here.

Just Perfect

We have just spent 11 nights at this wonderful site. It was absolutely excellent in every respect. Easy to find with directions from the website. Greeted on arrival and all relevant information shared. Pitches well spaced and grass kept well trimmed. Taps between pitches and the kindness of our neighbour adding a two gang fitment meant water "on tap" all the time without having to collect it - made use of the shower much easier. Perfect location for days out from Southwold to Aldeburgh, from Sutton Hoo to the Suffolk Punch Trust and from Ickworth House to Framlingham Castle - lots of villages and places to see in between. Suffolk exceeded our expectations throughout. Numerous places to walk from the site and lots of excellent pubs and restaurants in the local area - excellent local pub - volunteer staff but service was top notch. Great holiday - we don't usually revisit places but this might just be the exception.!

Perfect!

This is a really lovely site. It’s very well kept, and the facilities are very easy to use. The field is very large so loads of room. The owner Peter is very friendly, and informative. Access was pretty easy for our very large van, and Peter suggested the best way for us. A couple of single track roads but there were passing places and the roads were straight to easy to see what’s coming. Access to all East Suffolk has to offer is great. It’s easy to drive past the entrance as it’s between 2 houses......there is a sign on a lamppost opposite the entrance....which we didn’t see at first but the road was plenty wide enough to reverse a bit! Highly recommended

Everything a CL site should be.

Stayed first night site opened after lockdown, and first night in new van. So no pressure there then! Despite Covid and toilet/showers being understandably closed we received a really friendly and comprehensive welcome from Peter which told us everything we needed to know for our one night stay. Lovely flat grass pitches and windbreak hedgerows were all well tended, and told us the this was a site that the owner wanted their guests to have comfortable stay. It was wonderfully quiet. We wondered put into the dusk with our dog straight from the van and had a really rest night's sleep. It's everything a CL should be, we loved it and will definitely return for a longer stay. Thank you to the Langford for being such wonderful hosts.

Post-lockdown getaway

We chose this site for a 4 night escape from lock-down as soon as we were able, partly because we were testing out our new caravan & didn't want to be too far from home. A one hour drive into the North Suffolk countryside fitted the bill and the site itself was perfect. The approach from the A12 isn't too scary, as long as you follow the directions on the CAMC website. Peter met us on arrival & talked us through the amenities on site & in the village. He had decided to keep the toilet facilities out of action, which we knew about before arrival & could understand in the circumstances. I'm always pleased to see a CL with such well-organised recycling facilities. As two others units failed to show up at the weekend, we had two pitches and a water tap to ourselves. The site itself is flat & well-drained and so peaceful, with only the local wild birds to wake us in the morning. Cycling options from the site were superb, with quiet lanes heading in all directions. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the pub in the village as they had only just re-opened & were operating restricted hours - we'll just have to go back!

A perfect CL for grown-ups

As the 'official' Caravan Club sites become more and more busy it is clear that CLs are gaining popularity. The opportunity to judge a CL in advance, via the CC website, is a real bonus. Having done this we arrived at Rookery Farm and were not disappointed. Everything lived up to expectations. Peter welcomed us and explained 'the basics'. Beyond that he was often around but not intrusive. His organisation of the site - waste disposal, re-cycling, toilet facility, local information, etc. - is spot-on. The CL field is large and well trimmed. By placing the pitches along one side each caravan has the delight of day-long sun (and we had it in good measure). Rookery Farm is reached along narrowish roads, whichever way you come, but with careful advance planning and the use of Street View, etc., there is not really a problem. Once there it is easy to reach the well-known Suffolk coastal towns, NT and RSPB places of interest. It's far from home for us but well worth a return visit in due course.

Peace and Tranquility

Stayed here with a group of friends over Easter 2019. The CL is on a large mown field which is extremely well maintained. Electric hookups and water taps are all along the one side of the field. There is ample space between the pitches so you're not on top of each other. The owners are very pleasant and helpful and very approachable if you want help/advice on where to go etc. The site is about 7 miles from Beccles for supermarkets and about 12 miles from Southwold if you want beaches etc. There were plenty of places of interest in the area to suit all tastes. We would certainly consider this site again when we're in the Suffolk area in the future.

A Hidden Gem

We stayed on this site in mid October and found it very peacefull and tranquil. It is a well maintained lawned field with water for every 2 pitches. Plenty of space between outfits. The owners are very friendly and helpfull and it is a ideal location for visiting this beautifull area. Would highly recomend this cl to anyone who like peace and quiet.
