Great little site

Friendly welcome, tree enclosed flat grass site with 5 pitches, so quiet it was heavenly. Had two nights there, two toilets and one shower which was always clean and tidy. Knaresborough walking distance, Harrogate cycling distance, but bus stop right outside gates if weather not good. Pub 100 yards away. What more could u need. Loved it here we will definitely be back.

Great CL but access tight for large outfits

This is a smashing site 2 miles from Knaresborough & 6 miles from Harrogate. Excellent facilities including toilets and wetroom toilet / shower.Perhaps at the upper end of pricing but I would go back if visiting the area again. The only slight downside is that access if turning left into the site it is tight for a large outfit :)

Great CL

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely site. The facilities are very good, the site is level and proximity to Harrogate and York is ideal. There are any number of good  places to eat and drink nearby. Having had such a great time we will return in the future.

Fabulous

On arriving until leaving we had a fantastic time. Upon arrival met by the lovely owner & showed us to our pitch in which it was huge like a paddock. Beautiful views of the countryside. The facilities spotless, wet room which was great which had a toilet & sink, plus there was a separtate toilet. The site really lovely very clean loved it. LocalPlacesOfInterest was brilliant 5 minute walk to the Union Pub down the road. Then a lovely walk to Knaresborough which was about 15-20 minutes maybe bit longer coming back after a few drinks !!!. Lovely town nice pubs, shops & eating places. We visited Harrogate again a lovely town plenty of shops really nice place & the surroundings lovely. Although the weather was not great that weekend it did not spoil it. Patley Bridge was a nice little village nice walks etc, plus found a butchers which had the best pies. We had a pork pie with mushy peas on top it was gorgeous. We will definetly stay again it is one of the best sights we have stayed on Plus the first CL site loved it.

The best!

This CL is simply the best we have stayed on. The facilities are kept spotlessly clean by the friendly owners, and there's always plenty of hot water. A wet room with shower, wc and basin, and another separate wc. The location is perfect, peaceful but with easy access to all the attractions this area has to offer. We took advantage of the excellent bus service with the bus stop being so close by. Thursday is market day in Ripon, well worth a visit. Nature lovers should visit Staveley nature reserve, on the bus route to Ripon, too good to miss. A drive to Fewston to walk round the reservoirs was an excellent day out, if you go on a weekend though you have to be there early to get parked, although there are alternative carparks around the reservoirs. As you can probably tell, we enjoyed our stay at this super CL, and we will definitely visit again.

What a find!

Everything has been said about this CL. It is a pity that it has been reviewed, because it is so nice and peaceful that it will probably get fully booked and my wife and I won't be able to get a booking! Looking forward to the next time we visit, hopefully not too long.

Nothing disappoints

Booked due to visiting the Great Yorkshire Show, but WOW what a find! LocalPlacesOfInterest is 10 out of 10. Brilliant for MH owners, (or 'vanners who don't fancy driving) as bus stop just at end of drive and a helpful print out of bus times on view for visitors. Facilities are 10 out of 10 A separate W.C. And a wet room with toilet, shower and washbasin. Lovely hot water and powerful too. Really clean and a credit to the owners. Site is 10 out of 10 Very flat and a very pleasant area to stay in with loads of room and a lovely outlook onto the sheep paddock. Owners are 10 out of 10 I am blown away by this couple. They really do go that extra mile and I wish they were relatives or neighbours. All in all a wonderful site, brilliant owners and a terrific location. Keen on recycling and helping the local wildlife as well! What else is there?

Peaceful haven but very convenient location

This is a nice CL with a very friendly and welcoming owner. He even put down a bed of wood chippings so that our motorhome didn't get bogged in the still damp ground. There were ewes, one in lamb, plus some newborn lambs in a shed, and it was interesting watching them being fed. They bleated loudly ever time we went past. There is a convenient and regular bus service to Harrogate and Knaresborough along the road, so it's very easy to get to the local places of interest. (Note no Sunday service.) The owner has put the timetable up outside the toilet block. As for the pub down the road, the Union, this was a huge disappointment. Until last September it did excellent food, and was run by an enthusiastic landlord. Then there was a change of licensee. It's now an unwelcoming, failing local, with no food at all, and not worth crossing the road for. Unfortunately the web site created by the previous licensee is still there, and the first we knew of the changes was when we arrived for a meal, only to be told in effect to get lost. If you want a pub meal, there are some in Knaresborough just about within walking distance. The nearest is the Dropping Well by the Nidd.
