Great Weekend

We arrived Friday afternoon and were welcomed by the owner, with a tour of the facilities. We were soon pitched and setup in a lovely location. Facilities were clean and tidy, with shower, two toilets, information book, recycling bins and waste disposal area. Easy walking access to Knaresbrough nearby, with Mother Shiptons Inn, just 15 mins walk. A great welcome and the best Steak and Ale pie I have ever had. From Knaresborough easy access on the train to York and Harrogate. Well worth a visit to this CL

Lovely Site

A lovely site. Pitching area is all grass so early morning and late evening the grass was quite damp. The owner welcomed us on arrival but we never saw him again, even on leaving. There is a single toilet and a shower toilet room. Both kept very clean. Unfortunately in both of these areas there was no sanitiser and none at the chemical waste area. The walk into town is about a mile. At the bottom of the road there is the Cricketers PH and yes you can sit out back and watch the cricket. Plenty of shops in the town and there is also a Morrisons nearby....turning left out of the site...following sat nav! Opposite Mother Shiptons there is a lovely area to walk in around the river.

Wonderful stay

We initially booked for 4 nights, but as it was so peaceful stayed a total of 6 nights. A wonderful CL easily reached from the A1. Just a 10 minute stroll into Knaresborough and a short drive to Harrogate. The owners were very friendly, accommodating and provided everything needed for a relaxing stay. The price is still £20 per night and very good value for the peace and location alone. The added bonus is it is a hardy plant nursery and we were able to leave with some extremely well priced plants and still get 10% off the price.

Mature couple

Good site. Very straightforward access from the A1(M) - only 10-15 mins. Convenient choice of hard standing or grass. Sun or shade from trees as required. Pleasant and helpful owners. Slight road noise but not enough to bother. Only drawback is the cost - £20/night is more than some club sites, but worth it for the convenience of the location.

A great CL, in a great place. Bought some plants from the nursery too. Highly recommended.

Over priced

Yes a lovely site, but having just moved from a lakeside site in Coniston at £13.20 pn I felt Ridgefield lacked in several areas from the facilities point of view..... Also when I stayed in Silloth the week before I paid £10 pn and the site and facilities were immaculate plus not far from the beach.

Fabulous cl

Our second weekend on this immaculate cl. Highly recommended. Walking distance to Knaresborough. Try The Union pub for excellent food-a 10 minute stroll away. We'll be back next year!

Lovely Site - Recommended

Great site, gravelled driveway leading to two gravelled pitches or turn right into a field with five grass pitches. Semi rural site, ideal for access to local area including York and Harrogate. Both owners a pleasure to deal with and very accomodating. Toilet block has single toilet and next door toilet/wet room, both very clean and very well equipped. I didn't use recommended route but took the A59 from Lancashire and then in Harrogate followed the Wetherby Road and approached from opposite side so avoided narrow roads near Knaresborough, no problem, check it out on Google Maps. Recommend this site to anyone.

Peace and Quiet

Visited for three nights and what a lovely site. Left Aberdeen at 4degrees and it was 22degrees when we arrived. It is well sheltered but still feels nice and open. If approaching from the left, just wait for a gap in the traffic and swing wide. The facilities are immaculate and information plentiful. We walked into Knaresborough a couple of times (a lovely little town by the way) and it did not take long: we caught the bus to Harogate from there. A couple of pubs nearby serving food, the nearest not on Sunday evening. We shall definitely return for a longer stay as there are plenty of walks nearby which we wish to explore. Mr and Mrs Pickering are very welcoming and have made this a lovely site to stay at.

Little gem

A real gem of a site! Our 1st visit to a CL but it won't be our last. Beautiful, peaceful, quaint site. Just 5 flat grass electric pitches set in a well screened paddock. Site only visible by sign from the road. Sat navigation may direct you just short of turning so look for sign just after bus stop. Swing wide in road to turn in from the left. Narrow driveway but easy if you take your time. Utilities exceptionally clean, 2 toilet's & a shower wet room. Elsan point & recycling bins. Site owners were very warm and friendly, despite our early arrival. Owners very knowledgeable about area and are very approachable for help. Location is great just a couple of miles to knaresborough & Mother Shipton petrifying waterfall. (walkable ) Harrogate 15 mins away, York 40 by car. Pub with good food less than a mile.
