Ease of arrival/welcome

Great CL for visiting Pin Mill

We chose this site as we were visiting the Royal Harwich Yacht Club and this was a short bike ride away. On arrival we easily found the water point by the little blue information hut to fill up prior to finding our pitch. The pitches are huge and quite level. Even though it had rained heavily, the ground was not boggy. There were hard standing strips laid out just in case but we didn't really need them. As we were cycling down to Pin Mill to visit the Butt and Oyster pub, Sally came out to greet us and to let us know that she had kindly put some eggs in the hut for us.The site is very close to the village and the main road but you would not know it as it is a haven of peace and tranquility. There are innumerable walks and cycle rides from the campsite. The only things missing are toilets and showers but frankly, I prefer the more rural, back to nature feel to the place. The site fees include 10 units of electricity but we only used 2 on our overnight visit. I think it's perfectly acceptable to charge for additional electricity in the current climate. The welcome was warm and friendly and we enjoyed being in, what is basically, a big field. We would definitely return if in the area.
