The site's website says just about everything you need to know from places of local interest right down to the wonderful village shop. What the website doesn't tell you is the wonderful welcome you will receive from the owners, the fact they have time and enjoy meeting you in person in fact have all the qualities that make this a very special site to you all a Big Big Thank You.
When you visit take the opportunity to walk to some of the churches mentioned in the leaflet in the site information hut. A round trip to Harkstead, to Erwarton then back across the fields is a day's walk of about 8 miles and can be done in about 4 hrs.
The bus service is every 1and1/2 hrs either towards Freston or into Shotley which is quite good for rural Suffolk.
From our point of view it is a site to return to.
Again thank you for such a lovely site and walm welcome.
A special summer weekend in Suffolk!
This CL is relatively new, but the field itself has mature meadow grass and tree lined hedging. It’s a tranquil environment sitting just behind the adjacent residences, with lots of wildlife to watch and listen to. Pitch spacing is good and level, with hookups to hand, and water, rubbish & loo disposal all clearly marked to-hand. Grass is kept cut. No worries with traction during our visit, as it is clear the soil is free draining. Access arrangements on arrival were very good.
Behind the field is a copse laid out with interconnecting footpaths, where you can wander quite a distance in peace & solitude.
It’s clear the owners have taken a lot of care in setting up this CL, and in keeping it well maintained and attractive for visitors. This is a site to recommend !

Wonderful CL site
It's unusual to find a site so close to village amenities and yet still quiet and secluded. We were only there two nights but wish we had stayed for longer as with the site so close to the banks of the Orwell there is lots to explore. Owners are friendly and welcoming and to have free eggs (when chickens are laying) is a real bonus.
As usual I've made a short video of the site which can do it better justice than I can in words.

Enjoyable stay .
Spent 2 nights at Redlands mis January in our Motorhome.
Good drainage so no pitching problems .
Free new laid eggs was a nice touch yummy they was too .
At 22quid a night ( winter price ) a little on the high side we thought .
The Elson point could have been designed better it doesn't drain properly.
Altogether and nice stay , met the owner who was very pleasant.
A lovely new CL!
A super weekend in our Caravan with friends joining us in their Motorhome. First time at Redlands where we experienced a very warm and friendly welcome and found this to be a great base for lovely walks and exploring the local area. We’ve been Caravaners for 23 years, and our friends were “newbies” having only bought their Motorhome within the last year. Great to find a new CL in a lovely location. We’ll be visiting again I’m sure! 👍
Will definitely return to this C.L.
We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this newly established C.L. in an area we had wanted to visit for some time. A friendly welcome by the owners and their daughter with a gift of some freshly laid eggs by the resident hens was appreciated.
The pitches are large, flat and well spaced, there are secluded seating areas within the grounds. The C.L. is conveniently situated for local shops and nearby pubs.
There is plenty to see in the local area which is easily accessible by bicycle (our preferred mode of transport) as well as walking trails and a local bus service.
We enjoyed our stay and would certainly return.
Really lovely new CL
Lovely peaceful CL, access to miles and miles of footpaths.
Friendly welcome
Plenty of wildlife
Perfect
