Great Views towards Whitby and Abbey A wonderful CL

A wonderful, immaculate CL about a mile south of Whitby Abbey and Whitby Micro Brewery. A CL so good you almost want to keep it to yourself. Excellent location for walkers with access to coastal path. We explored from Staithes to Robin Hoods Bay on foot, using frequent public transport from Whitby to Staithes and Runswick Bay in order to walk back to the site. Whitby is interesting for a variety of reasons, something to suit everyone and about a 1.5 mile walk away You can either go down the 199 Abbey steps or Caedmon's Trod footpath. It is also possible to drive into Whitby. There is a footpath through fields from the site and within 20 minutes walk you can reach a small retail park which has Aldi, Iceland and Sainsbury's and a few hundred yards further up, the famous local bakery Botham's have a small shop where you can buy their delicious breads, cakes and pastries as well as takeaway coffee and tea. The CL owners Jo and Stu couldn't be more helpful and friendly. They will suggest walks and how to get to places as well as providing a wealth of local information in the Info Shed. It was our first visit but can't wait to return. If only it wasn't so far from home we would be making regular visits but 300+ miles is a little too far for a short break!
